This is impressive! Even better that the pictures are in reverse order so in the TL;DR version it seems like it's all gone wrong.

I'm currently doing the 5:2 diet but without a start weight and a target weight, more with the goal of just looking and feeling a bit better.
The 500 calorie days are hard work (constantly thinking about food and being irritable) but not unsustainable. Low point was taking the school running club for a 5km run, then playing a staff v students football match, then going to the pub with colleagues and drinking diet Coke and sparkling water while they had pints and pizzas.
I'm in week 4 and I am definitely pleased with the progress so far.

If I tried that I would be so hangry I would probably be facing murder charges

Just checking in. Current weight is 84.8 kg. Started the year at 94 kg. Want to reduce body fat a bit further, probably down to the 80 - 82 kg range. Since hitting my original goal of 87kg in early March I have drifted a bit. Need to refocus on calorie counting.

Good work I need to refocus also. Slipping back in to bad habits. family size bags of crisps I'm looking at you...

It’s fair to say weight loss has slowed since I got back on my bike (after nearly 10 months) four weeks ago. But I feel much better and cycling kit is starting to fit okay now.
I’m not doing 16:8 any more but still limiting carbs (unless I’m doing a long ride the following day) and no bread and almost no booze. If that can get me down to my target weight of 80kg by July I’ll be a happy man.

Weight down to 83.5 kg (from a start weight of 94 kg). As low as I have been as an adult, but I probably had more muscle and less fat 6 to 7 years ago. Still have visible subcutaneous fat I would like to shift. If I can get my weight down to 80 kg, I can realistically target 4 w/kg (if I ever made time to ride).

Checking back in as I stopped the diet as marathon training got serious, then a couple of weeks off, been off the booze again for 2 weeks and on keto again since Saturday.
Got down to the 76s and stayed around there for a bit by Saturday I was up to 79.5kg but factoring about 2kg being keto water loss/gain I’m not too upset of 1.5kg regain over 2 months.
Aim now is to push on back down to the low 70s ideally 68 ready for marathon training to start again in July.

From 92kg I got down to 86kg at the end of March but have drifted back up to 87kg. Restarted the nutracheck calorie counting with a goal of 82kg

Another scales question please. I will not sign up for apps or fat index things, I just need some really simple accurate scales to weigh twice a week with some reliability. Have read some online reviews but they are what they are.
After some illness and injury caused comfort eating and inactivity, I would like to go from c80 kg to c72kg. My fighting weight as I recall was about 68, but that was 30 years or so ago so 72 is realistic. Am happy to take time.My plan is a balanced diet. Just cutting down on carbs and treats, moderation in all things. I often feel a little bit hypo, so eating little and often feels right.
Exercise is from quite a modest beginning. 3 or 4 bike rides a week, quite a lot of steps, and a swim once a week. I will increase the intensity of a couple of these activities as I get healthier.
I am just trying to consume rather fewer calories than I burn for 3 or 4 months or so, then see where I get. Rather then count and monitor everything, I am going for a sort of perceived rate of in and out.
So, simple scales? Ta.

The simpler salter analogue ones are pretty good, if you don’t want any app nonsense or guesstimates of body fat etc…
1 week back on the keto train (although my test strips seem not to work - they do say discard after 90 days) and progress is there, feeling like a struggle still but then having a bbq on Saturday and not even having an alcohol free beer will do that!
Weight 79.5 > 77.9
Waist 85cm > 84cm
Body fat 22.7 > 22.9 (?!)Pleased with that, less than 6kg to go to my old race weight, looking good for being race weight before London marathon training starts…

Had a bit of a bounce back up from 81.5 to 83kg. Still being 90% well behaved and have started running again so hoping to keep chipping away at it.

Done a lot of random binge eating since last posting in here and am now up to 76.3kg.
I am shit if we have things in the house, which we have had after having guests and family events recently, so I’m going to try to move all sources of temptation out in order to avoid just smashing a giant bag of crisps or two in an evening. Also, sitting upstairs rather than sitting in the kitchen I’ve found helps. Helps if you have time to think about what you’re planning to do and have a little rational appraisal of that plan, rather than just getting straight into the cupboard and getting involved.

I've very much lost interest in this for the past 2 months, and have had things like cheese and ice cream back on the menu, while doing minimum exercise. I'm starting back on the calorie reduction today, and once I've adapted to that, will try and reintroduce some time on the bike

Its hard to stay motivated for weight loss unless you have specific targets or deadlines.
Dieting is pretty much the opposite of fun, especially if you're a foodie like me.My weight loss has slowed down, though hopefully to a more sustainable amount, with a reasonable amount of social / celebration meals sprinkled in.

Muscle mass is up quite a bit, visible abs is only a couple of kg away. Sub 69kg by the end of the month.40g protein shake in the morning, meat lentils/legumes + green veg for lunch and dinner for the next couple of weeks is the plan.

Cut out bread and booze introduced Calisthenics on top of running and cycling as everything apart from my legs is a skinny fat wasteland of entropy and misalignmentBut happy to be the lightest I have been in 2 years

Gone off the tracks a bit. Was hovering around 80-81. Guessing I've put a couple of kg back on in the last couple of months. Mostly beer and cake, rather than constant snacking.
Going to have the last lil' beer in the fridge this afternoon then it's weighing in and calorie counting from tomorrow. Got a few big rides in June/July. The less of me I have to haul round those, the better!

Reflecting on why this week has been good (76.3kg on Monday, 75kg this morning) and hasn’t involved any random binging.
Can’t help but come to the conclusion that it’s because it’s the first week in some time where I haven’t had any booze. Guess it’s time to go hard on the no alcohol in the house thing again and see if that conclusion holds up.

Week 2 and appetite has shrunk massively again, which makes things easier, seem to have gone out of keto over the weekend though, think I must have miss guessed the contents of what I thought was an ok curry on Friday and dinner at the in-laws was a chicken and ham pie which probably explains it..

A week on holiday last week meant exercise time and energy was reduced but I stuck to diet despite ice cream and beer being plentiful for everyone else, pleased that momentum has maintained and now on the cusp of having a normal bmi, which I know isn’t the be all and end all, but nice nonetheless!

Restart week was so-so. Lunch out on Thursday followed by park beers, pizza on Friday and a fair bit of bread over the weekend.
Figures probably a little inflated. Will see how this week goes.
