I went about 6 months reading the calories for pasta as uncooked weight, when they are listed as cooked weight (which, btw, is fucking stupid and unhelpful). Dramatic difference between the two.
Still lost about 15kg though so obviously didn’t matter too much!

Similar to Nissin noodles then.
It gives the calories as 100g served, and for 50g of noodles, the total served quantity with water is 450g
So multiply the 87 calories by 4.5x so 355 calories. -

This is why it’s useful to understand the calories, as there is no possible way that a packet of instant noodles has lower calories than an 18g Freddy chocolate bar.

I think for pasta and rice, 100g dry weight ends up being about 250g cooked weight.
Also cooked weight changes on how Al dente, type of rice and pasta, and each meal could swing 2-400kcals if you’ve under estimated. -

Just eat it dry

I’ve eaten instant ramen dry before.
Smash it up, shake in the powder, consume. Not as good as flaming hot Wotsits however.

Down from 93kg at New Year to a tickle under 85kg today. Rolling from 1500-1800 calories a day for a 600ish deficit depending on exercise.
Superbowl next next weekend so going to have a bit of a Bodeans blowout and then reset. I must admit I expected 85kg to take a lot longer so much have been carrying a lot of water weight. Going to tap sub 80 then let the mirror decide if I want to taper back up to try and maintain at ~82kg or to keep going to 75kg. Most of the cravings for junk are gone now/habits broken but shopping while hungry still a bad choice. -

Hit a milestone this morning - my starting weight from my previous weight loss effort.
And half way to my target of 82kg.
Need to work on my maintain phase...

Goal 75kgHappy with that. Have made very little change to diet/beer consumption but upped the cycling to 320-380km a week of mostly low intensity.

That’s some impressive distance!

Put on a kg and a bit in the last week. In fairness to me I did have covid, it wasn’t exactly a time for dieting. Feeling mostly better now, so time to get back on the calorie counting.

Good to hear you’ve mostly recovered!
Not much of a dent in progress. -

How can you be 81.9% muscle, 58.8% water and 13.7% fat?!
-
• #572
Muscle mass includes water contained in muscles according to the app. So muscle, bone and fat combined should be ~100%.
