This is hilarious. I had to wolf down a cereal bar while we visited various bits of ancient wall.
It was great fun. I think the format worked well. Or the ‘post x number of tags and then the others have to find them’ could be good for a bit of competition.
Lovely to see new and familiar forum faces

That's great. What took you to Bloomsbury?

Have you obscured his face because you don't want him to lose an election?

We didn't go to Bloomsbury. No idea why that's in there. Or was it Dibble and aglet?

We got a bit confused on the way back. The S Bank was supposed to be a short cut, but it was absolutely heaving and wasn’t.

The main thing I know about the Metropolitan Archive is there are lots and lots of amazing old maps in there
I see. I don't really know anything about it, but that wasn't an association I had at all.

Er what? The South Bank a shortcut to LMNH? And then you went to Bloomsbury?
The quickest would have been to go along the Victoria Embankment, Temple Place, and then back up Arundel Street. Then Strand/Fleet Street/Fetter Lane/New Fetter Lane/Charterhouse Street/Charterhouse Square/Carthusian Street/Aldersgate Street/Baltic Street West/Crescent Row/Domingo Street.

We thought you might have gone to the skate area on the south bank so went to check then over Waterloo bridge and up Kingsway aiming for a right turn to take us sort of Lincolns inn way but there are no right turns. We ended up doing a U-turn and going past the Brunswick centre and Coram Fields.

Ah, no, I didn't have the South Bank on my radar at all--all I knew was 'Charing Cross', but not where.
You can turn right into Lincoln's Inn Fields at Remnant Street and, even though the signage indicates 'straight on except local buses', you can also turn right at Theobald's Road; the traffic order may well exclude cyclists, but it's also possible that the signage is wrong. But yeah, you may remember me articulating my opinion of banned turns. :)

Old: Craft House, Exmouth Market
I forgot to mention on here what I said in conversation yesterday: That used to be the Penny Black, formerly the Clerkenwell Tavern, a pub popular with Mount Pleasant postal workers. I don't like the anodyne current name.

We just set you a really difficult one to give us enough time for a sit down lunch! :-)
