I would argue that a new brooks is not proper wank - it has to be limited edition, vintage or preferably a Gilles Berthoud - they are after all endorsed by Jan Heine

You make a good point, I would like to add that new brooks could be considered if they are customised in some way? Diy cutouts and designs cut into the leather (obviously done very neatly, don’t want any bodges here)

The more I see these mini velos posted the more I get tempted by one

Slightly OT and showing some serious insta ignorance I assume.. But when did shoppers become minivelos?
-

Most parts will transfer to the Marin which I have just had some very bling wheels built for.
Someone rode past my house on the blue colourway around a year ago and I chased him up the street with a swatch book. Specialized will rise like a phoenix.

I’m feeling shameful of my turbo more and more as the days go on

Surly Sunrise
Fairdale MXAlternatively Motocross of moped bars can be found for cheap and most are 22.2 mm clamp, which fits in BMX stems. The Stridsland handlebar is still a little ways off last I heard.

My take is that a shopper is closer to a folding bike — even if it doesn't actually fold — whereas a mini velo is more like a normal bike that happens to have small wheels

Please say this is actually true. Great content for this thread if so.

These are Pro 2 evo, sound a bit nicer. CK + Son for the Marin, yes.

And the swatch incident? More details essential

I hope that under saddle cup is just for show.

Cup looks non-functional. How do we feel about chainring guards? Surely if (as indeed you should have done) you’ve spent a fortune on chainrings, the last thing you want to do is cover it up?
Stridsland are/will be doing some. That may well be a Stridsland build - can’t remember where I saw that before.
