Your post has me wondering about whether e-wanker hybrids might qualify? They seem to be a good way to waste money on a bike to go to the shops on. Happy to defer on this.
Edit.. Something like this

imo a motor does not disqualify a bike, but i will be having no hydroformed tubing or matt black finishing kit here
needs to be retrofitted onto a nice steel frame, Estooge or Ejones bike would be excellent to see, there were a couple of retrofit step through crusts which fit the bill in the gravel thread, maybe we can take them
this example however is just a waste of money by a failing designer stuck in 2010, denied.
and again, tyre size people!!!! tyre size!!! 2" minimum! no sensible commuters

Clutching at straws here

i thought we had defeated the trolls by being so self aware here, but im on the back foot
possible e wanker, ultimately denied due to the use of ugly saddles and reflector pedals, unstylish luggage,

The green bike has probably been scraped into a moodboard for the upcoming fall/winter collection of new niche wanker hybrid clothing. Moody shots at a Waitrose bike rack.

I'm simultaneously flattered and offended :-)

It's all positive in the world of wanker hybrid. Inclusive.

Yes it is. Very good for shopping, post and parcel runs. Seems to take whatever weight I throw at it. Easy to fit, although I did have to substitute the stock bracket to get it to fit.
Was going to replace it with a Nitto M18 for-the-gram and to get closer to this threads vibe, but this works really well. Plus will be used for Puppypacking duties soon and think the M18 will be a bit flimsy for that.

Why not just merge the Gravel and Golf Club threads?

Well the bikes on here can be many things, but cheap isn't one of them.

all of these could be saved with some guidance from this thread
every hybrid is just a few thousand pounds in trinkets and lateral upgrade parts from being here, it's what makes it aspirational, democratic and so empowering to see
the wanker hybrid could be anyone, it poses an achievable utopia for the bike community
i actually think i'd ride that first giant as is, just slap some bear traps on, a few stickers and a frame bag, would rip

that's mad value what the fuuuck
i remember when Ronnie romance had that specialized paid gig where he rode a diverge everywhere, but with a tiny stem, towel rack bars, brooks, ultradynamico and a big lashed handlebar bag. looked mega
(not posted here as it has contraband controls)
would be a good platform for something similar

when are they going to send me a bike, i check my business email DAILY

I am a huge fan of the asian bicycle aesthetic that can easily be dismissed as anti on here. For me they just look happier on bikes than the western bros.

it's a vibe, i keep wanting @Belagerent to make the Indonesian domestic market 26r thread, i send him all the Instagram accounts for it and he's built his gt like one
norm core bikes will come, just ahead of the curve, got to wait till all these poncy bikes start breaking

That straggler with the front basket is an all time favourite. I recognise where the camo bag is, is that road finally open now? I used to do my track starts on that dodging the motorbikes and kids nicking cables
dropper posts should be allowed imo, essential for urban commuting as many members will mention and a good way to waste money.
A good point on stooge i feel, maybe i am too socially liberal and feel that no mountain biker would actually buy a stooge to replace their bouncy trek, no matter how progressive it is. but if the membership demand firmer, more conservative approaches we will have to update the manifesto to accommodate them. maybe a head angle range?
