Thanks they're solid, it took me longer than expected to install them though (my stupidity). I've got 77 days left now so it's just about getting to Christmas as I've got 10 days left and once that's done then it's 20 days left as i finish on the 22nd of January

You can do it man!

I like it with mudguards! A day off might be just what you needed. I always feel more tired at this time of year- riding suddenly feels much harder with all the bad weather, dark, kit to dry and clean etc. Another week and riding in the dark just becomes the norm and you’ll love it again?

caad 5 with 23mm
Is that the biggest tyres it will take? What size frame do you ride?
-
• #383
It fits 28mm actually, which is very modern for a 2002 bike and it's 58cm. I'm just trying to get through the next few months without buying more bike parts...
-
• #384
Well what are you waiting for? Throw some 28s on that beast.
I was going to offer you my Tarmac - it's a 2004 model maybe and takes 28s.
It's a 56 but it's a proper race bike so with a longer stem you'd probably be fine. -
• #385
I was after a set of 28s off here- but if they work for you I’d happily have the guy post them to you instead? I feel like sending you some tyres to help finish the challenge is more than fair

Thanks for all the offers above :) Don't worry I've managed to sort the bikes out with mixing around parts that I already have.
Total distance from yesterday (Day 296)= 29,658km
I'm on Day 297 so I'm getting closer to the magical 300 mark which is very exciting. Life/work has been incredibly busy recently so the riding has become less of a burden and more enjoyable again which is really nice. I was pretty slack with work for a month or two so spent a lot of time thinking about bike relating things so now we've got more contracts in, I can focus more on this and enjoy riding.
Excitingly I'm 3 weeks away from exchanging on my first house which I never would of thought possible this year. I still can't work out how it's happened because of how little spare time I've had over the last year.

I hope you're moving house using a cargo bike.
-
• #388
I'd be keen to minimise fuel usage but I'm unsure how a cargo bike would transport a mattress 😂

Any idea if they’re likely to redo the rapha jerseys for the mental health charity you sometimes wear? I can’t remember the name now
Surely we could sell a few on here to celebrate your big finish? -
• #393
It's ASCND, I'm not sure if they're going to run the same jersey again but i know they're doing a new jersey for next year. I'm seeing Nick who runs it on the 27th so I'll have a chat with him then as i like that idea a lot.
Those jerseys sold very well and managed to raise 10k for TNN (The new normal) charity, pretty inspiring.

10k, that's amazing! I was gutted to miss out on the first design as it was a great looking jersey.
In other news, congrats, one day to the big three-double-oh! 👍

Tell him to do us an early release special on here!

I'm on day 305, I'm currently fighting a cold. It's the first time I've gotten ill for 18months which is frustrating. It's essentially caused by someone else, who doesn't understand social distancing or the fact that I'm doing everything I can to stay healthy. It was very likely for me to get ill going into winter but it's just annoying.
I will hopefully break 6,000km to go today but let's see, I don't mind getting behind to get myself better as I can use Christmas to catch up. I'm definitely tired, as I locked myself out of my house yesterday...

Thank you very much :) That was a long read for you, I really like how this page documents the highs and lows of the challenge
