Yeah, I think Rene Herse sidewalls are too thin for the manufacturing at Panaracer to deliver reliably. I’ve never had any issues with Panaracer brand tyres but Rene Herse / Compss had loads… and were double the price.
Funnily enough I’ve switched to Gravel Kings and Vitoria tyres for everything now!

Were you running extralights? I've heard complaints about running them tubeless in the past, but never had an issues with the standard casing versions.

Yes I was. To be honest I don’t trust the company now, but seems like others have had good experiences.

There's definitely a history of their tires having problems and revisions being made to address them without any announcement (Jan isn't really the type to admit his products are anything but flawless) and it's not helped when people who are super into the tires won't have anything but praise even if they know that they weren't great early on.
What kills me are the cranks - I've known a handful of people who've owned them and they've all had issues ranging from shifting issues (mostly 10sp era) to flexy rings to chronic creaking even with every contact face greased. And I'm struggling to believe he's not going to face a lawsuit from some retired dude mangling he hand in the rod-shifting derailleur RH is putting out.

Had the extralights and they tore within a couple of months. Weren't even hard ridden and the sides went AWOL. G-Ones and Maxxis so far the best for all round on the Moots. T

another reason to hate Rene Herse, they won't give out contact info to anyone, not even their dealers. And you fill out the contact form on their website and you're lucky to get a response a month later.

Sounds very much like the Emporor’s new tyres but with the curtain being increasingly pulled back

I was thinking about buying some more babyshoe pass for the summer but maybe I won't.
I had a pair years ago, before they were £70 each, they were comfy and felt fast but were pretty terrifying in the wet - I remember a number of two-wheel slides under only moderate braking
Well Rene Herse are made by Panracer. But I had good luck by installing a tube first for 24 hours first and then feeding the tyres lots of sealant. I'm still running Fleecer ridge on my gravel wheels.
for 90% of applications you can find some Gravel Kings to fit your needs, for the other 10% you've got Vittoria.
