If I could, I'd always have a second oven.
The stress of managing Yorkshires in an oven full of roast veg and whatever veggie option is on the go is unbearable.

It's a relic, weigh it in.

I can’t roast spuds in the ten minutes resting time a reverse sear steak gets!

Agree. I have never regretted having two ovens.

We're planning (forever planning...) to have a single oven and a combi microwave. Solves the steak & potatoes quandary, and you get a microwave (Panasonic, natch, because inverter).

I've thought about this option but does a decent combi actually exist? Seems an even more remote possibility if you limit to Panasonic....

I think our Miele H6200BM seems to fit the bill

There's one option, discontinued a few years ago, that is hen's teeth rare. I've not considered other brands, as the microwave would be useless.

Not inspiring me to restart the same quest to find one to be honest!
Maybe the Miele above is the way forward...

You’re not trying hot enough

I doubt my oven could get from 95 to 220 centigrade in the ten minutes a reverse sear steak stands for let alone cook the spuds too.

New install at work
2 ovens (one steam, one convection), combi microwave and a built in coffee machine
and of course a warmer and vacuum drawer

I've got a combi microwave (Panasonic). It's average at best as an oven. Particularly compared to air fryer.

2 Ovens, 1 Steam Oven and 1 Microwave for me…also have 2 fridge Freezers..
2nd kitchen we have spec’d and I would not go back to having a single oven. If you have the space, I’d do it…

Wait for the people to tell you that only one oven is required.

Sounds like a proportionate solution for workers to reheat last nights pasta.

On the combi microwave, our Siemens one overheats after a lot of use. So it's fine to a limited extent but in no way is it a true second oven.
Would still prob get a combi + oven, but I think you need to manage expectations.

Required is a strong word.
Realistically we don't require any, one is a nice to have and two is luxury.
This forum can be quite Waitrose at times.

I suspect the number of people reverse searing some meat regularly is pretty low. Obviously it is nice to have two ovens but I think the large majority with an average sized London kitchen would find the space more useful for something else.

We have a the luxury of a widdle 50cm oven because anything bigger and I wouldn't be able to sleep in the tiny, dog kennel of a London flat we're in. It's almost warm enough to stop us dying while we huddle around it during winter. But I had to sell a kidney to buy the elec for it.
Even in this example you can pretty easily get away with one oven, given resting etc. I mean it's obvs nice but many other appliances I'd prio over a 2nd oven
