I've been down the burner path! It feels great but fuck me writing text messages is a pain in the arse.

You should have used the burner phone to sell drugs and get rich instead of chasing your dreams trying to make money in the highly lucrative cycling industry ;)

Yeah, I do wonder if something like the burner might've helped avoid my asthma attack thing in the '15 24hr Worlds. #famouslyunderdressed

Although saying that I am very appreciative of your efforts and also it's not like Encrophones turned out to be a very good idea so

Anyone excited by the upcoming coldsnap to put @Chopsicle excellent Burners to the test?

Test your burner, end up in hospital with a broken leg after crashing on ice.
Sounds like a great plan.

....maybe this is all a big cover, hiding in plain sight?
(spoiler; it's not)

Yes - Please don't put yourself at risk! Spring is just around the corner (and hopefully easing of some restrictions now the R number is decreasing).

Tested the burner today on a 75k ride, under a PSN jacket (and over a LS merino baselayer) it was brilliant, just what the weather called for. Failing to remove it on time lead to some sweating but it wasn't over the top, just barely wet. In the early hours (early? 9am ffs) my arms and hands wasn't warm enough, I was able to gauge burner vs. burnerless feel. Glad I opted for spring gloves in the end, such glorious weather.

Thanks for the feedback - lovely morning, v jealous! - yes, a really noticeable detail is when you do remove it, and cold air flows around the chest, and you can feel how much warmth it's kept in.
It's really significant if you're using on a cool spring/summer morning with just a regular jersey and not under a winter/windproof jacket. Once the suns up and you're comfortable, it's a sort of key-change shift in temperature settings.

Great post thanks, and good to watch that day on the Galibier again- fantastic entertainment and such style from Pantani but seeing Julich struggling with his cape was pretty terrifying too.
On the subject of cape-donning and no-nonsense pro kit, I think I may have spotted a hacked sleeve too

^good spot, very Pro. Noticing team riders did this with their supplied kit, decided to embrace it and make it a visible feature on the Pro Team Race Cape. Those dark bands on the arms are tape reinforcements, designed to be cut and not fray or unravel. ....a few people did take scissors to their £200+ jackets(!)

if I was regularly taking off/putting on a rain jacket while moving I'd totally cut at least the cuffs off, they're always the tricky bit.

I must admit I thought it was only those who had been given them under sponsorship. Can't imagine me doing it unless I win the lottery

yes, there's also the packability if it's coming off/on all the time. Not massive, but eliminates a % of bulk and faff in pockets.
also put the big cuff zippers on, which 'flair' the cuff open to let a gloved hand through quickly. These work really well if you need to vent, and don't want to take the jacket off; open them up, and they gulp air straight through the whole jacket.

did see a pair of sleeves - just the sleeves - on ebay!.....

Hopefully with gaffa tape.

5 degrees today, slipped under a shadow jacket and lightweight jersey. Toasty!

The cut sleeves are the difference between being able to carry the jacket in your jersey pocket or not IME. I rarely use mine much but on occasion it's quite handy.

If you cut the arms off you do get free pair of hardshell leg warmers.

I used my PT race cape earlier today. Twice!
The flared sleeves are quite good as you can pull it over winter gloves easily and either zip & tuck (if it’s v cold), or not (if gloves are big or I'd just rather press-on).
Thanks for making stuff that makes my rides less uncomfortable!

Ive been looking to get one with an order from Albion that never happened before brexit I’m afraid. If there’s a second round I’m in!
Yes, definitely, the convenient aspect of it was definitely part of it - as @Chalfie says :) Around that time I tried giving up a smartphone, and using a Burner phone for a while (gah, wish I could have stuck with it, but not having podcasts & music when out didn't work for me).
