Are the terrenos 33 or 38 ?
-
• #504
s-works is nice and shiny though
-
• #505
33s, on 21 internal
EDIT: also, superx are nice, but discontinued (I tend to break things) and have that annoying asymmetrical dishing requirement on the rear wheel

You know the same applies to my frame....

And so it begins.
Featuring not so incognito packaging that they send it in!

True. Redished wheels, typical bad cannondale idea.
Edit for pick below, i didn't realise we were talking about an sworks ! How pricey is it ?
You can't be serious putting g-ones on that :).... -

£2999 from Certini / Specialized Concept Store. 2022/07 Manufacture date.
I could have bought a whole bike for that, I know (see left pic) - but I scoped out the bit's that I would be left with when I'd stripped it down, realised I would probably get £500 back ( thus £2k for frameset) and couldn't really justify the time and effort when I already have a frame and parts to shift.
So, got a bit #buyer and went with the S-Works, again. To be honest; hoping to get a fair chunk back of that from the sale of the Sl7. This will be my do it all bike.Yes, I'm going with G-Ones for my first foray into gravel. 45c and the more aggressive ones, because mountain biker at heart. They'll also be on 40mm deep rims. I do not conform. lolz.

I keep umming is it just flat black? One of the things that puts me off…

Thats good intel thank you.
3k for 8 tubes is not cheap, but if you have the money it makes sense to fulgfill the sworks desire. It will be just as fast as your road SL in 1x11 !
A successful gravel + road build ? -

@GoatandTricycle flat black, full finger print magnet spec. Lovely, but it’s going to be a pain in the arse to keep clean! Buy one! :)
@Glws yeah, it’s a kind of one bike to rule them all - which is perfect for my locale. There is a lot of riding around here that’s unlocked with a quick traverse across some off road stuff.
I’m staying off the road for a bit though until I get my confidence back, which is why the SL7 had to go. It genuinely was used twice last year.40 ring up front with a 11-40 at the back. If I can’t get up something in 1:1 im in trouble!

Go for the gold/white/black one, I would.
Re £2k for the frameset post strip, the math is right, as the components of that build are pretty basic. But if you factor in c2w on £2.5k, and the same ~£500 you can recoup, then the frame comes down to £1.3ish, which is not bad, for it being just 200g heavier.

Spot the non-homeworker 👀
Unfortunately being 1 of 3 employees in the UK for my employer the desire to enter the scheme - and me to lie on my application..saying I’ll use it for commuting - doesn’t exist! -

Hmm I had emailed about C2W awhile back and they’ve not replied so was a bit weird! On both Sworks frameset and full builds. I quite like the grey non Sworks one. But I’d need to take everything off.
Could hold out for 2024 Sworks frameset colourways must be due soon??

I did mine through Green Commute Initiative, no issue at all. Just phone them up.
Taking everything off 2 bikes to rebuild one was not fun, but not the end of the world. Stripping bikes is quite fast.
The 2024 Comp, in pink with Shimano comes at £3,500 which is a much better spec than the 2022 Sram that RRP'd for £4,500

Maybe I should keep my 650B wheels over here... hmm..
-
• #519
I figured for my gravel bike, none of this 2nd wheel set with 28c road tyres nonsense. I want a 650b 2.1" will roll over anything in comfort and a second set for 700c 38/42c for long distance less knarly rides
-
• #520
That's what I had with the Tripster, but now I have the MTBs I was going to try and keep the Crux only for Champagne Gravel™
I also got tired of worrying about which spare tubes I had. In the process of simplification I seem to just be adding bikes...

I’ve got a set of those famous £150 Prime 650b carbon wheelz which I will try when I can find some tyres that I want that are in stock, maybe Rock Razors or Rocket Ron’s. 🤷🏻♂️

Dry run. When the assembly paste and grease comes out so will the cover.
Ironically when I assembled on our kitchen floor last time I stripped the lacquer off the flagstones when I spilt some mineral oil 🙈
It’s going into the shop for bleeding this time (read this thread if you want a loltastic story of what not to do with Dura Ace levers) -

I did the same thing to my deck 😅
Get a Kalloy Uno stem. Costs 1/6 of the RRP of that SWORKS one, and weighs 3 grams less.
