Went for the third stage of testing for the Novavax vaccine. Still a blind test. More bloods, questions and quick feel of glands.
My next stage of tests is in May, they said if I get offered a vaccine before that, then I can ring and find out if it was the vaccine or placebo, if vaccine, then don't get the offered one. -

I got the covid vaccine yesterday morning and by late evening and again this morning I've noticed an increased sense of smell.
I thought my sense of taste and smell was a bit diminished previously but now ? - strange đ€ -

Itâs because you now have access to increased bandwidth

Interesting.
So is this the vibration theory of olfaction they are all talking about ?

Found out about this vaccine study needing volunteers 6 days ago, and responded (The study is for people aged 50+). Got my first injection today. They aren't hanging about.
I think UCLH are still recruiting, and they are especially interested in BAME applicants.

Just found out about this page on NIHR website showing vaccine trials that still seem to be recruiting - the 'mixed' one looks particularly interesting.

When getting this vaccine, or any vaccine or injection in to a muscle relaxation is the key.
No side effects, no nothing but suspect the nice red with dinner of king prawns (bought several hours ago and kept in a warm car) fried in olive oil with garlic, chili flakes and a little ginger tosted in to linguine and wilted spinach are more likely to cause a reaction.

Not sure if it was you who asked about vaccine trials before if youâd had it but this looks like it might prompt further trials.
âA single vaccine dose will... play the role of reminding" the body of someone previously infected with coronavirus how to fight the disease, the Haute AutoritĂ© de SantĂ© (HAS) said.

What is really crazy is that people in Germany seem to have been riled up to become prejudiced against the 'Oxford vaccine' and demand the 'German one'.
Ursula von der Leyen, among other people, isn't coming out of this well.

I was getting frustrated that so many people younger and decidedly thinner than me were being called for vaccination and I had not heard a thing. A friend pointed me to this link:
https://www.nhs.uk/book-a-coronavirus-vaccination/do-you-have-an-nhs-number
If you are over 60 (and possibly younger if you are at risk) you can book both your vaccinations. I have just done so and am being jabbed on Sunday and in May.
There are lots of vacant slots.
Please pass this information on. The government donât appear to be doing so.

It says you need to be 64+ to be eligible (If no underlying conditions) unless I am missing something?

That's Ace. Thankyou very much. Both wife and I 62,61 respectively are booked in tomorrow afternoon. As you say many vacancies.
I'm on the Novavax study so have had to contact them to see if I have already had a vaccine or got the placebo.

I'm 56 and received a text from my White City GP this morning with a link to book a vaccination tomorrow. I was not expecting that?

Managed to get my dad booked in, great stuff. Looked like it was mostly pharmacies that were available near him, presumably they're rolling the AZ vaccine out through those.
