Silly question but why is there 800 quid in Bulb's account and not in your bank?

Do I need to switch accounts before they go bust?
Might be worth leaving it for now. Probably too late to escape as everyone else has already started to do the same thing.
If things go to plan, they will probably go bust, and the balance will be transferred to one of the mega-energy-corps and the rate may be, relatively speaking, favourable. They'll take ages to process the balance, maybe years (because why show the balance, when they can just charge you?) but it will get credited in the end.
This is in contrast to what happened to me, a few years ago, where I was transferred to another medium sized co, who then dragged their heals on crediting balances to the point where they just stole them, and Ofgem gave no fucks because it was such a small number of people who got screwed. They got away with it because every time Ofgem said 'where are the balances?' medium energy corp just said 'we are in the process of dealing with it'. Which was a lie.

Oh ffs

I note that medium sized energy co who stole my money is on the 'gonna get killed by this' list.
This pleases me

I think octopus will stick around for that bit longer they've just announced a partnership with Severn trent water on some green initiative for the commonwealth games next year. Something along those lines on the memo

Name and shame.

That is a lot. Just email them and ask:

This isn't quite right as it shows Bulb as having gone bust already!
Also it's out of date as Green and Avro have gone under now.

Are people switching to fixed rate deals atm? I'm with OVO on a variable with quite a low tarrif, the fixed rate is significantly higher monthly payment but it sounds like my variable rate is set to increase massively.

Stick for now if you’re on variable. Maximum price they can charge is the price cap (£1300 ish from oct) and then see where it goes. I can’t see political appetite from what has been said so far for allowing a price rise outside of the twice yearly cycle so it’ll go up a lot (probably) in April when the cap is raised based on previous 6 month prices. Can always change to a fixed rate if that changes, and with prices as volatile as they seem to be who knows where tariffs will be in 3 months time.
With OVO having acquired SSE last year I’d be pretty sure they will still be around in a years time (I hope so!)

Apologies, a friend sent it to me yesterday, I had no idea there were so many small fish in the pond

Me too, we fixed with them for another two years in May, feels like deal of the decade at the moment

Cheers that's helpful. Always been happy with the service from OVO, not sure where they're at in terms of green standards these days but hoping they pull through.

same for me with Green - just over 700 in credit....i've already started a chargeback/dispute as slightly panicked

100% renewable on all tariffs (backed by regos, as all “green” tariffs are) so on par with anyone else’s green tariff. Do some other nice things, partner with the woodland trust to plant trees for each meme we etc which I guess is a plus longer term?
Seem as good/green as any other green tariff, short of generating your own solar/wind!

We're with Avro - currently unable to access/view out statements on the website. Presumably because everyone is online trying to do the same thing? Anyone experiencing anything similar?
-
• #147
Avro customers have been assigned to Octopus which I guess means Octopus might survive?

Got an email from avro but haven't had time to properly look into it.
