That is the best colour for a bike!
What are the cages on the fork for?

New page image! Really nice.

It’s really lovely, both seatpost and bike.
Those novatec logos on the hubs come off with nail polish remover, takes less than 30 seconds FYI

Thanks everyone!
@2slices The cages on the fork are for mounting dry bags with bivvy, sleeping bag etc inside. Or a large water bottle like a Nalgene.
@Simba Thanks :) The wheels are actually on loan from @Cupcakes as I’ve been waiting months on some Chris King hubs. Once they arrive I have some DT Swiss rims to build them up with.

This is great. I’m going to quote this every time I get asked what type of bike this is.

Hubs are finally here and I somehow managed to dodge any import duty - double win!
Dropped everything off for the wheel build at my LBS, should be built up over the weekend.

I'm itching to take the new bike for a big ride but there's still a load of sketchy ice around. Guess I'll be sticking to the Pomp and spiked tyres for a little longer.

Blue Lug/Nitto are having an Insta photo competition. Being the massive hipster I am, I went out and took some photographs of the Hansom.

Think this thing deserves silver rims and spokes.

that is a thing of beauty- Hansom indeed!
-

that is lovely BUT when/where do you ride it?

Summer skidder, innit. Put track drops to evoke those peak '08 LFGSS feels. Come summer, I'm skidding 100 miles around East Lothian on this thing and you can quote me on that.
-
• #116
can you reach the drops
-
• #117
Been waiting to see the gravel frame built up, absolute belter. As are the Pomp and the Hansom in fairness, top bikes!
-
• #118
@maj Absolutely.
@velohobbit Thanks!
-
• #119
and the most important, dont the drops hit the front wheel when you turn?
-
• #120
Not with that headtube, the drops glide right over.

• #121
I saw on insta that you have some new combo of frame and fork. Is it that blue frame with surly fork? Looks great, could you share more details and photos?
-
• #122
Yep this thread needs some updates:)

Road bikes are fun and everything but nothing compares to the excitement of building up a track bike (for me at least), so I’ll start with the frivolities and what arrived in the post this morning.
After years of keeping an eye out for one, I finally have my grubby paws on a Seta in size 58.
Tofu the cat approves.
