  • It’s soooo low though. Have to keep the driveway ploughing tight in the winter or we’re going nowhere. Dumma saab

  • Adjustable coilovers would've made it handle the bends

  • Lowered springs?

  • Don’t think so but I am no mechanic, they all look like that to me 🤷🏻‍♂️ I am going Skoda kodiaq next time.

    But I’ll keep the saab...

  • that 99 Turbo is awesome. wouldn't say no to the others either but that 99 is the pick of the bunch

  • Yep, have a lot of love for 99 turbos. My first proper girlfriends Dad had one and probably the first Saab I went in. Beautiful car with also a great interior.

  • Cheers!

Doing some initial polishing and I'm toying with the idea to spray them in Gunmetal gray and maybe even do them in matte...

  • do them in matte

    No

  • Yeah, I quickly changed my mind on that.

  • The glow is 60% of the whole experience

  • Get a snap of the whole dash lit up. But not whilst you’re driving please. Really getting into these.

  • Will do when I've changed a few blown bulbs in the dash.

  • The glow from this thing was just awesome. You were not driving somewhere, you were intercepting MiGs over the Gulf of Finland.

  • Did a 2nd gear pull and the main radiator hose went poof emptying the coolant in double quick time. Got towed to the local Saab guru that will change it out.

Might actually go with Maptun on it and change out all the radiator hoses.

Also found that the rear window is starting to delaminate a bit making condensation creep in at the bottom. So I need a donor trunk/window for that to change out next summer.

  • You were not driving somewhere, you were intercepting MiGs over the Gulf of Finland.

    Hah! That is so true!

  • Better it happened now and suddenly rather than later and slowly. At least you know you can change them. I see this stuff as consumables after a decade really, just like pads.

  • Yep, this is true. I'll go over the vac lines as well.

  • Updated list of future upgrades on page 1. It's starting to get tall.

  • Have you found the 'night mode' yet? Turns off all interior dial lights with the exception of the speedo up to X speed. When you hit X it illuminates the rest of the dial.
Always loved the wide > narrow range on the speedo. Why most cars insist on equal spacing up to top speed is beyond me as most will never get there. Make the use of the space you have = Swedes.

  • Yeah, button marked 'Night panel' on the SID. Didn't know about the X speed though. Where do you set that?

  • I think the threshold is fixed at 140 if this is anything to go by.

  • I need to try that when I have my new tyres on and it's properly aligned. It's mad sketchy to drive it now because of bolded tyres. Aquaplaning is a reality.

  • Yup, per Grams it's fixed value and will probably get you in trouble with the police for trying it :)

But it also works for 'critical' instruments too. i.e the rev counter if you red line it and the petrol gauge is >1/4 tank.

  • Every time I read this thread I miss my old 9-5. :'(
The night panel was glorious, perfect for blasting over french motorways in the middle of the night on holidays.

  • This is so fighter jet I love it. This thread is making me want a Saab...
