I think the shifter is broken? Like…. It clicks as if increments are being made, the dial works… but it does not change gears

Doesn’t feel like it’s pulling on the cable?

Under the guidance of @BareNecessities I have sprayed some stuff in there to see if something is sticking, there has been no change

Under further supervision by @BareNecessities he advised I might have threaded the cable while it was at the wrong end of the gear range, which turned out to be the issue… we fight on

Fingers crossed the bike feels as good as this thread reads
