Been commuting to the bf’s more on this, it’s great going north on the smooth roads and dedicated cycle lanes, fast smooth, almost enjoyable,

But going south? Cracked segregated shared use paths, ruined roads and gravel? Not my cup of tea

But I have found @merle a nice orbit she offered on and won so I might be getting a juicy pacer to replace it

What to do with this?

Canal?

I might be moving soon and could have 3 bikes, make this a fixed gear? Found the lock ring in a box the other day, put some risers on it,

But when people say stuff like this they mean have it in the room and never ride it so should just be sold

Might just take appart and eventually get a new frame I like more and rebuild it the same

Covid is wild rn, not going anywhere, might as well build a bike

i have aquired a surly pacer from the lovely @merle , months of negotiating, memeing, bullying, all it took was me to find them a lovely orbit on ebay for £200 in kermit green and they couldn't wait to offload in the end

will aquire it in the new year

it's lovely as is, but she wanted to keep the nitto stem; instead of me buying a new stem, i will instead strip the bike and use parts i already have to avoid buying an ugly stem

why not just buy a nice looking stem?

she made the terminal mistake of cabeling the rear mech with white outer cable and i will not be ablee to sleep at night, so might as well get it all out the way now

maybe merle will post a picture of the pacer for you all

i want something that's a bit snobby but equally reflects that i am a lowly technical consultant and have other priorities, like getting a large hifi, maybe a nice rug for my new place (inshallah)

think nice unbranded finishing kits, frame pumps, stickers and faff

something which looks scarily similar to your colleague bike they've ridden every day to work for 5 years but you cant quite work out why this looks so much better

sort of bike one could ride everywhere, but equally, will look good enough to keep tripping over in a the flat instead of just selling it
