Yes, changed to side pull long reach tektros on the Royal and no need to change on the Classic as they had long reach center pulls already.
The Royal had centre pulls originally actually -

Do you have a bag in mind? I've thought about it as it's a nice look and place for a light, but having the rack and then that outershell bag (which is so good) hanging above is a bit odd.

Errr on the royal and the classic I think I had/have 32c and in both cases it was clearance under the crown that was the limiting factor

That's a nice long bench. Means you can park lots of projects on there so you can't use any of it like I do. What wood is the top?

Ha they were spare, they were freestanding horizontally across the other ones to support the (redundant) cold water heater tanks. So once they were removed I have a load of free lumber

The bike I built for my mum didnt work out alas, due a problem with her knee she just could get over the top tube. So, I picked her up something more suitable and moved some parts over to it.
No mudguards yet as my parents had to get it into their car, but she loves the 650x2.3" tyres "they give me confidience..."She took to it very well, within 5 mins she had popped a wheelie and snatched 3 phone off passing peds... so I'm happy.
Also I own a brompton now, thanks to @jambon

Some updates to the Raleigh Classic:
- New safety pizza
- New Stronglight needle bearing headset
- New Nitto stem
- New Nitto Cable hanger
- Adjusted the front rack to a lower position; less wobbly and it now connects with the mudguard
- Re-added the rear rack as its handy for carrying locks
- Upgraded the kickstand to a used Plescher one I had spare
- 'Cork' grips
- Cleaned and destickered
Still a great bike to ride; I'd like a brass bell for it I think...

That's interesting - the spec sheet above also says db
My bob jackson was 27.0 (not uncommon for old 531c) but 26.8 is unusual - perhaps the seat tube is not very round...
