Managed to source a Suntour Symmetric aero mount for a reasonable amount. I will be trying out the following conversion.

Fucking love where this is going. Another recommendation for defietsenmaker.nl here. Really fast service.

When its finished give me a shout, we could do a Somerset levels cruise. Its suitably 'Dutch' down there.

Good shout, even though I must say not much of Zumerzet is flat :-)
Installed the Suntour mount yesterday, to actually see if it sits well on the mount. It's a promising start

30 minutes with a Dremel and it's 90% done. The tricky bit was the drive side as you need to file away a small extruded piece from the body. I'll finish off with some nail files.

Hopefully should have this one built over the weekend, no idea why it's taken me nearly 18months to build

Successful weekend of bike building?

It didn't quite go to plan, it's all pretty much done bar the non- functioning left shifter.
Go back about a year, I was gifted some crash damaged carbon record 10speed shifters, I rebuilt them from another pair of spares/repairs Centaur shifters.
Must have done the left one wrong, will do some surgery this week to try and getting it working (got plenty of spare fiddling bits)........otherwise I will buy a left hand record shifter or just another pair of 10 Campagnolo shifters

What's the tyre clearance like. Ive seen one for sale for stupid money... I'm tempted

25c was about the limit on mineβ¦ stupid money cheap? let me take the hit, where is it? π
-
• #67
I've only run 25c on my previous monstays. I recall you're more limited by the seat tube cutout.
-
• #68
Mine fits 25mm tyres with about 2mm to spare to the chainstay on each side, and about 5mm to the seat tube and front mech.

When will you see another? There'll be a gap in your gazelle collection.

I can't afford it. Although I will send them an email, see if the are flexible on price.

Ok small update
Managed to pick up some alloy compact UT centaur chainset, just need the UT BB to go with it.
Record carbon Frankenstein shifters are complete
Just need the wheelset (nearly sorted), then hopefully I will have this built up in the next couple of weeks.
Shock shock horror, I bought this frame June 2020, this is by far my laziest build I've ever done
I have access to NX CAD, just need to get round to modelling the mount. I think I'll take you up if Martin has a 3D printer π
