Good but relatively warm.
Not a bad thing in autumn

I usually get Havianas

I had Terra Fi Tevas as my only shoe
Iv'e had a couple of pairs of these over the last five years, and use them most of the time. I did a ten day hike in Norway a few years back, mostly just wearing them as well - the sole is pretty nice / supportive.
That said, I now want some of those clogs as well.. will keep an eye out for a sale somewhere

Printed the outline thing for Bedrocks this morning hoping the us11 clogs they have might fit me but it doesn't look like they will seeing as they say the clogs are smaller than the sandals which is what the template is for. I think I'll need a us12 which is mental as my Tevas look like they're a us10!
I emailed them to see if they were planning on restocking though and they say they are, within the next fortnight or so.

I wear UK 9 in Tevas and got the US 11 Bedrocks (based on the paper templates). I was on the fence for the first week thinking I'd bought them a size too big but now 2 months in I'm pretty confident they are right.

I bought the same size as my old bedrock sandals (will double check). They have since changed the sizing of the sandals but I do wish I had gone for a size bigger to give my more toe space in socks. Do love them though as the transition shoe for when it’s too cold for socks and sandals but not yet boot weather.
(Edit: I live in Toronto, so proper winter does happen)

Hmmm, my Tevas are uk 9 so maybe the us11 bedrocks that Woods have in just now would be alright.
Do you have much more space around your foot on the Tevas than this?
(Do my ankles actually look this fat? Fuck sake!)

Fuck it, I’ve ordered the us11 from Woods. Fingers crossed I don’t have to return them.

Once the original Birkenstock sole was replaced these will last forever.

I think the Bedrocks could work, like I said I wasn’t sure if I’d gone too big with them and I have the adjusters set about half way on the daisy chain.
Didn’t see this evening ending in internet foot pics but here we are. From the UK9 Teva comparison I think you have slightly bigger feet but not by much.
*looks like I also have fat ankles, I’m going to blame it on the angle.

Haha yeah, felt a bit strange snapping foot pics at work!
Looking pretty similar though so hoping they’ll fit alright, cheers.

DIY job? Mine have not enjoyed multiple trips to the beach. Cork starting to disintegrate which I guess can’t do much about. But could replace the now flapping sole

no, took them to a cobbler. £30. He was resistant at first but said he’d have a go. I’ve been very impressed. I’d say they got another 2 years before needing another resole

Timpson’s glued a flapping sole a month or too ago for a donation to the charity jar - not sure how long it will last but holding up well so far

US11 clogs are just a hair small for me :(
Going to have to send them back.
Thing is, they were so close to fitting that I'm worried the next size up will be too large.

Unlucky, if you emailed Bedrock they might be able to give you measurements for the size difference between the 11 and 12.
Or it’s a good excuse to go for a weekend ride in the New Forest once The Woods get a resupply.

Oooh is that where they are? New Forest had crossed my mind for a riding holiday next spring.

They were very close to fitting but at the price I want them to be perfect.

Not fussed on vegan-ness, probably prefer leather actually as I have a perhaps outdated idea that leather shoes last better than non leather options.
Actually went and tried on some Birks to get my size and was seriously thinking of getting Tokios but I refuse to pay 'normal' shop prices (£110-150) for them when catering and medical apparel stores have them for <£80, of course they are all out of stock of my size right now.
The Duckfeet Lolland could work, the Mols are maybe a bit feminine looking for my taste. Looks like they do ship to the UK, for free actually.
I think I'm going to hold out for Woods getting a restock on the mountain clogs but there is a chance that by the time they do it'll be too cold and wet for them. I've worn socks with my Tevas a few times this week and last and that's been good for the cold, it's due to be pissing down when I'm riding home today though so went with shoes for coverage.

I agree with you about longevity - and part of the reason I'm moving away from Birks is that I haven't found a local repair option.
I like the look of the Mountain Clogs as well, but price and availability (along with questionable repairability on a mainland Europe) has kept me off them. But I am quite keen on an airy closed toe-box option, as I've had some wet, brambly and nettly rides in Birks this year.
Would love the Samsø, but with a closed toe

Will a general cobbler/shoe repair place not undertake it?

Not the ones I've tried before - but will take my battered pair in to the one who just did my Duckfeet chelsea boots and see what he reckons.
What brand? I usually get a couple of years out of a pair of Gumbies.
