  • Let me know if you want to shift the Mercian frame on :)

  • Will do. Bit torn as it was a Christmas present and I doubt I’ll ever find another :(

  • I'd say fill it before painting it. Will look great! Already decided on color yet?

  • Mmm, I think you're right. Am thinking dark metallic grey with white insets...

  • White primer on the way.
As the TT decal isn’t available, asked HLloyd if they could set one up if I did the art. Mine’s a fairly approximate version, as I had to guess from a photo of someone else bike. Still, it’s not too bad, no? Paper print testing for size / sense before preparing the art to send off.

  • That’s neat. I’ve brought some Wienmann 810’s which easily reach, and polished up they look nice... but I’m not sure I like the balloon look of them all that much now :(

  • Bit of an update, just waiting for one decal (the TT one I artworked) and then I can clearcoat the frame and start to build it all back up.
Did all the lining with an old fashioned lining pen which was no fun at all and the results are a bit shit tbh. Probably need to practice for 10000 hours and then knock it out.
Anyway, everything else isn’t too bad. Now need to think about mechs and cables and shit.
However, even given my shite skills and taste, it’s a Holdsworth ha ha

  • Aw, cheers :)

  • lovely job, nice work indeed ... (",)

  • wow - that looks great! well done

  • Couldn’t have done it without your help :)

  • And lovely parts galore for fitting now the paint has cured... Campag Nuovo Record f&r mechs, d/t cable guide and shifters, SR (I think) seatpost, ITM stem. Put the tubs on and they look ok, need to sort out braking and bars. Getting there.

  • Stronglight bb in means more progress. Brakes next, few more bits, might even be ready for some late summer rides without guards...

  • ...and, done.
99%. Need some nicer bar end plugs.
Lovely machine. Brake calipers are f*cking hilariously useless. Might look at some centre-pulls instead before death.
Can’t seem to get along with the pedals. Feet always seem to be in the wrong place. Maybe just become too lazy with spds?

  • Wow - definitely freecycled this in the right direction. Lovely!
If you go down the centre-pull route, I've got a whole load of Mafac brake bits and pieces in a plastic bag somewhere in the shed - don't think I've got cable hangers though.

  • Aww, cheers man!
Definitely interested in the brakes, the side pulls are rubbish!
