New rubber for when snows gone and the 47s come off.
Will be giving tubeless another go. Maybe put some tubes in if I decide to go for another 2000k audax.
Got my self some new valves according to the new mood board. Think this will have to be the last piece of red ano. Don’t want to venture down that maxed out ano path.

Edit:
I need to find out if I can fit 50mm as they are in stock and 40mm is not

Yes I’m hoping 50s fits with my front mech as the sks 56s didn’t, but they had a more square shape.

I want those teravail tyres as well :)

Yeah! Still icy and general shit weather here so the 47s are still on. Meaning I haven’t had a chance to try them on but they seem so so sticky. Im intrigued to see how they perform.

Took my first ride on the SMP last sunday. Bum seemed very happy. I want to see how it feels over a longer distance.
I received some red vinyl but I’m not completely happy with the tone so might order a new roll. When settled upon this choice I’ll have some decals cut.

Had a great week in gravel heaven. Unfortunately all I decided to document was the last 30 minutes.

Borrowed a 120mm stem from a friend. Just got in from the first ride. Felt good.
Time to consider stem options. The one I borrowed was 8°, ideally I want it to be level with the top tube. Or do I? Hm. I think I can handle the drop.

Yes parallel with the toptube and some extra spacer(s) under the stem

Bike and thread is great - thanks for sharing. Can you get this frame anymore? Looks like a nice all rounder

I can’t decide if I’d prefer a leveled stem with spacer over angled stem without.
Atm I have 10mm spacers under the stem I think.
Maybe a 110mm 17° stem would be the perfect option.

Thank you @Thrasher
The bike really is a nice all rounder. Very happy with it in this regard.
I don’t think it’s available. I know there were new ones on the way. But not sure what happened to those. If they just sold or never turned up. I was interested in one of the new ones because of flat mount brake mount.

Other plans for the bike is adding mudguard mounts to the fork. I bought some stainless threaded spacers that I plan to stick to the fork with some weird epoxy putty i ordered. Seemed like you could sculpt it and then sand down.

A Thomson x2 -17 110 just popped up on the local classifieds.
Is it stupid to run an x2 on a bike used as a tank?
Thomson advices against it. But apparently som xc ppl use it…

^ Yeah, they slip.
Go X4

No Thomson then :-( if -17° is desired

I'm curious (I have a bike with the same fork as yours) why not just using the existing bosses on the fork legs for mudguard mounting?
-
• #96
I considered it, but I don’t think it will look good to bend them like that.
-
• #97
Do you have guards mounted to those bosses? Can i see how it looks?
-
• #98
Depending on the guards, you can just run them straigh to the midblade eyelets.
That's what I did on my Pelago

Yes. I want to avoid setting them in that angle. Hence loctite and fuss.
