  • Still got this Deda stem if you think it’d work.

  • have a white rear aerospoke in the shed. You should buy it.

Yes I should. About fifty dorrah?

  • Still got this Deda stem if you think it’d work.

Yes, hold it for me, I'll know on Sunday if it works

  • @hoops, are you on board?

  • The bottle cage off of there also seems in keeping ...

  • I’m sure I can sort a nice wee package.

    Pm me as and when

  • Something has come up that might send this project in a different direction.

I'll know when a certain eBay auction ends on Thursday.

  • I've just been up to see @Aroogah and @LongAndWinding and this project is moving forward.

I've got a forum pedigree white Condor Pista frame, with black carbon fork, black flat bars, white grips, black levers and, possibly best of all, the black Sora brakes that didn't get put on DBAD.

Now, DBAD was a bike built around a brake set. How fitting that its cast off brakes might go on a bike built around a saddle.

(@amey I need to check that you are OK with this as @Aroogah tells me that they are technically still yours? I have a black campag Mirage brake set that can become yours if you want?)

@cake, the more I think about it, the more I am sure that this bike NEEDs that white arrospok. I'll PM you.

Suggestions still wanted for crankset and front wheel. I am still pondering that white trispoke.

Also does anyone know where I can get Vredestein Fortezza tyres in black & white?

  • Bikeinn or Holland bike shop.

  • Thanks I'll check.

As for a front wheel, I keep coming back to this trispoke:

A question, are carbon brake tracks total pants? Will the brake stop me, when I am too old to skid?

  • Rear arrospok was always at least 17x more slave than front back in the olden times. Front should be a neon pink Velocity deep V to compliment: pref radial or snowflake spoke lacing.

Needs original JOL gurney straps as well ideally. I had 3 pairs from the original list, still got a pair going strong on my tourer but christ knows where the others went. /csb

  • Carradice on the back.

  • I will never go snowflake. Especially with added modern implications!

  • Carradice on the back.

I still have the SQR. Just sayin.

  • I remember someone pinging a spoke on a snowflake pattern on an early Ride East. I seem to remember black frame, red rims. Anyway, the loss of 1 spoke appeared to buckle the wheel to the point where it was slapping the chainstay for the rest of the ride and def not truable roadside as it had the super twisted style that was popular around 2010. Well ugly, well shit but nostalgic!

  • Bottle cage:

  • I HIGHLY approve of this

  • The oracle has spoken

  • But squabs hadn’t commented?

  • I HIGHLY approve of this

    Excellent

The Pista frame came complete with a DBAD sticker.

  • Cranks were going to be black Miche Primato, but they seem to be death traps nowadays.

Any other black track chainsets spring to mind?

  • Sugino. Shurely?

  • Also - @Zed should see this as well....

  • Oooh, that looks good.

Shame I can't select the BB length though. Will have to see what I end up with on the rear.
