I think it looks a little bit too thick (purely from an aesthetic perspective). Would go with an enve personally.

Looks I've no choice but to go with an Enve, anyway! As you can still order 1 1/8th frames.

I imagine there is no chance you would go for this, but what about a strong block colour on the fork? Spray it purple.

I have no idea why so many builders insist on tapered / 44mm headtubes. so few people put out the watts or even do the sort of riding that make them necessary. Save the straight head tube

Was going to say, Seven will paint any fork that fits your frame... they order it, or you ship it there... and they will paint frame and fork in one go for a perfect colour match.

You'll probably understand why my bike is all one colour once you start with the paint options. It's pricey already (but that's OK, it's a great paint job) but gets a bit crazy trying to design a paint job.

It's all custom, so borrow someone's pantone book and pick a single colour is a good way to get what you like without ratcheting the price up on paint designs.

Did you pay a grand for that pink paint?

I'm actually joking, as I like the pink, but I know it is no to everyone's taste.

It does sounds quite expensive for a flat, single colour. Pink bikes are cool though.

But Ti is imperfect, typically brushed, and the perceived colour isn't just the material colour but how the light catches the micro-imperfections, the brushed Ti, the super fine scratches. The light changes based on the imperfections and angle of reflection and diffraction.

A paint, will form a perfectly smooth layer. Even if you matched an average colour of the Ti, its perfection will cause it to appear flat in colour relative to the naked Ti.

I don't think this will look good.

I think if you want to keep the frame naked then that will look excellent, and if you want to paint the forks then great... but choose any colour that isn't close to the silver grey of the Ti.

What might look incredible is just going all out on the paint on the forks whilst leaving the frame naked... something like this but with the Ti frame on show:

You wouldn't have to have Seven do that, and so you'd have no paint cost from Seven themselves.

He already ruled something like that out (I agree it would be cool).

Cost really is at the forefront of my mind, too. I can’t go crazy with this (my wife told me so!) and like I said, an extra grand for some paint is a lot.

I also enjoy the tool like appearance of a naked Ti bike. A lot. I know some might think it’s boring but for me it’s what owning Ti is all about.
