  • Shite. I will choose to ignore your comment..;)

  • Honestly, it's fine for a temporary freshen up. And it comes in lots of nice colours. But it just isn't durable enough for a bike frame.

Of course it depends whether you want the outcome, or like many of us here, the project

  • Interested if that spray.bike stuff lives up to its apparent ease of use and good result.

Goes on very easily, looks great at first, absolutely terrible durability. Over time, flakes off all over the place without even being scratched.

  • ...😰
Did you apply the base- and clearcoat?
Otherwise other durable clearcoats are available.
But if it's that bad, why are they advertising it's like a powdercoat from a can?

  • I didn't do any special prep or a primer (instructions said it needed none, I now see they recommend primer but pretty sure they didn't at the time). I did do two coats of their 'framebuilders' finish on top.

If I was doing it again I would 100% just take it to a powdercoaters

  • ffs

  • p serious bit of kit in like, the mid 2010s.

its last race was at the 2017 world champs :/ (not me)

dxr mini 'group', answer carbon forks, bombshell wheels.

There are a few decent pumptracks dotted around east devon where I will attempt to generate some serotonin

  • That's the definition of rad

  • God damn fucking yes.

I did a few weekends of pump tracking years ago on something similar and it's so fun, very bloody hard work though!!

  • can't wait to be embarrassed by children

  • That looks like good way of releasing endorphins!
I'm quite sad that apparently the nearest bmx/pumptrack to me is at least an hours drive away..

  • yea it's one of the things east devon has going for it.

I guess I've normalised an hour's drive here now, in the same way I'd sort of normalised an hour on the bus in London....

  • did a lovely overnighter on dartmoor with a few pals.

My first since the Kona met its end nearly 2 years ago!

Pipey was superb. Agu bags perfectly adequate (poor main triangle fit aside)
