Not coffee, vegetable beans (string, runner, etc.) - they're usually airfreighted.

Ah, misunderstood, sorry. Had my morning coffee in my hand.
Peanuts are relatively low impact in environmental terms compared to lots of crops but that isn't saying much admitedly. Just feels that the transport distance for Pics is a step too far for me.

What we need is British peanuts for British people. Brexit has opened a door for this. :D

• #105
Well, another groundnut scheme would fit right in with Brexit...

Had a jar of similar peanut powder - interesting and quite good, shame every brand seems to replace the reduced fat with loads of sugar though.

Big time. Ideal for breakfast when you're camping because if you don't have milk (which you shouldn't anyway, you animal) they last forever unrefrigerated and are pretty dense in terms of packing space/calories and you only need one pan.
@umop3pisdn my girlfriend is absolutely mental about peanut butter (eating spoonfuls for a snack) but even she couldn't stomach that Peanut Hottie stuff! Too much of a good thing I reckon

Just what I was thinking.
70(?) years on we couldn't possibly repeat the same mistakes, could we? -

Good for bike touring too. So dense, clean to transport, works for savoury or sweet, any meal of the day, lasts ages, energy food.

Where do people get the manilife stuff from? Internet is only really showing holland and barret but are there some supermarkets that stock it?

Look out for Acorn Coffee & Acorn Butter both hitting your local Tesco shelves soon.

Yes. With a banana, sunflower seeds and a little maple syrup at the end (but no milk). Very good pre-ride breakfast.

According to their website the Waitrose near us (Edinburgh) does.

Enjoying the PB love on this thread. We’ve been having the big tubs of palm oil free crunchy peanut butter for a while now (normally pip and nut) and while they don’t have the instant guilty pleasure of a smooth sunpat I am quite addicted. I don’t mind the dryness - PB on toast, maybe with chocolate spread, maybe in a sandwich with some banana as well. Perfect eleven o’clock snack - though can make work calls quite difficult when you’re suddenly required to speak and you’ve got a mouthful of PB and dry toast.
We did get one of the dark roast ones once - which felt just a tiny bit too worthy.

MyProtein and BulkPowders 100% peanut PB is also pretty good. Think it's normally about 6kg/kilo. They also have some funky mixed nut butters but they're quite a lot more expensive.

Doesn't matter. Shouldn't have any palm oil.

It's Peanut BUTTER.
Weirdo.

Yeah, this. We just finished one. My missus prefers the Pip and I love the Pip Almond+Coconut.

Never tried pb on toast
How in the... what the actual... were you locked in a cellar in Austria for your entire childhood by chance?
-

Mix it.

Intrigued by Pistachio butter now I know it is a thing.
So was I but not at the prices they're asking. If I like it and it turns into the addiction I had with pistachios a few months ago I'll be broke in a fortnight!

Love PB and marmite
Now debating the validity of your coffee tasting notes... :P

I tried this combination as a kid. It was an experiment that would never be repeated.
That marmite peanut butter is ok but I find it too watery so I mix my own with decent peanut butter
