  • I am kind of a chicken when it comes to working on everything hydraulic. As such the Cinelli bars have still not made it onto the bike.

Instead I polished the hubs of the Spinergy. Forgot how easy that was and how amazing it looks!

Also found a matching front Shimano 600 skewer.

  • Having some fun with the little one.

  • This needs a massive triangular frame bag..
    Fantastic, but bonkers bike!

  • This is so good

  • New stem day. The stem that was on the bike when I bought it, has been bugging me since day one. Finally found something that matches the retro looks of the bike. I also found two potential candidates for a saddle replacement. The PRO Stealth is super comfy, but doesn't really look the part.

I have decided not use the Cinelli Angel bars. The aerobars a cut down quite a bit, which makes me doubt if I can get in a comfortable position on them. Also, the distance between the aerobars is really small, which would make using the grip shifters pretty much impossible. Still not sold on the current bars though, but for now I will keep using them until I find something nicer.

  • That stem is wicked. And yes please to a yellow flite - suits it perfectly.

  • My mate's ridden one of these for years. He's done well over 100 Ironman triathlons, and most of them on his Softride. Pretty sure that bike has the world record for most Ironman completions of all time. He upgraded to (iirc) a £5k Scott tri-bike, and swore blind it was slower than the Softie.

  • Might need to get my wheels painted to match the frame...

  • This is probably a bad idea, but I just purchased a Profile Project X handlebar. Condition is pretty bad and it is also quill. I am planning to get it painted in gloss black. Painted to match the frame would be even better, but I suppose that would be pretty much impossible. Not sure how the quill is fixed to the stem. If I can remove it somehow, I might be able to convert it to ahead with some sort of wedge clamp, like the Deda stem. Otherwise I will need to get the forks threaded.

  • Just caught up on this thread. Did a small chuckle at using a softride for a commuter, did a little lol at taking it for a gravel ride, did a great big lol when I saw the trailer.

    Great work. Keep it up.

  • This bike is so nuts, why not Simply mount two saddles like Shown in the second photo?

  • I've been looking on a few forums, a lot of Tri riders swear these are really quick, apart from hilly sections where you get beam bob (fnarr). Interesting.

  • Put the Flite max on and also fitted the bottle cage extension that I got with the bike.

  • Found these pictures whilst browsing the internet for some build inspiration.

  • The Profile aerobars have been showing "in transit" in tracking for over a month now, so I think it it safe to assume they are lost.

In the meantime I found these ITM F1 Dual Aero handelbars which are also quite nice. Condition is pretty poor, so they will need a respray. And I will need to find a way to replace the pads.

  • Love that rear fourspoke in the third pic and the Timex Ironman watches shown in the first two pics

The first two pics also clearly indicate that you must not ride the bike with anything other than a speedo, i think

  • Flesh-tone speedos.

  • Those Sidis would be a saucy addition to the project

  • Wheels and frame in hot pink.

  • I remember being fascinated by these back when triathlon was pretty big in Oz in maybe the late 80s early 90s. I'm so glad I never had the money for one but I like what you're doing now. :)

  • My thoughts exactly on the four spoke. After seeing it on the picture, I actually manged to find an exact same pair on Leboncoin. Then I realized it would be pretty much impossible to find carbon brake pads for the Magura brakes.

  • This was just delivered to my doorstep. I was actually on the hunt for a C4 Joker, when I came across this. Condition is near perfect and from what I've read online, the ride should be pretty amazing too. Looking forward to building it up.

  • Wow that's some high end carbon shizzle right there. Love it.

  • Took some shots with the Spinergy wheels fitted and two different stems.

  • I also bought a Giant TCR bike, because I have always wanted to own the wheels. The groupset might come in handy for the Kestrel.

Finally, I managed to find an original saddle bag for the Softride and I fitted a new saddle.
