This is awesome, these stems are really growing on me. I'm gonna add some esi grips to my next order. Are these 'chunky'?.

You mentioned tyre clearance and having to deflate the front tyre to get it between the front V-brake... How is it functioning? All good? I have similar clearance, currently have 2.25's on with a V-brake at the front and wondering how they're going to function with such wide tyres. Any problems? Love the colour of that HardRock.
Also you need this if it'll fit:

Very chunky, very comfortable, an absolute pain to get on.
Stem wise it was between this and getting the velo orange quill stem with the removable face plate but I'm quite happy so far.

No issues so far, also makes a good security device as they can't take the wheel off...
Ohhh I want my next project to involve a sewing machine... maybe this can be my first product!

Bit late reply i realise, but I did this, on balance pretty pleased with end result, depends how much bodging you're up for.
Drilled hole in the cable guide, then bigger hole to seat a cable ferrule, then clear sprayed. Had some ferrules which had a solid end so I could file down to smaller diameter to fit in the small hole. Found that because i just used hand held drill and normal drill bit that ferrule didn't quite seat right so ended up using a supporting cable tie to tuck it nicely.
Frame is 95 rockhopper.

Hardrock looks great. Looking forward to seeing a similarly strong build with the Arkose

Sorry I missed this, love it! Looks a lot neater than my solution.

Love what you’ve done with the Hardrock!
How’s the black braking surface on the Halo rims coping?

Cheers dude!
Not the best, nice solid rims though and I think for your build the silver would look great.

Wow, when I said this build would be slow, I didn't mean this long... Wheels arrived last week.
Frameset and wheels are still boxed up until I get everything else. I also have a thomson seatpost+stem and hope seat collar which is the only thing I have fitted.
Will be ordering GRX groupset this week hopefully.

Got a bulk order waiting to be shipped from Germany's favourite online bike store.
Hopefully it will arrive on time so I don't miss out on some sunny rides through Epping.
Still need to order handlebars, venturemax or cowchippers...

Couldn't resist doing something bike related today, so mounted the tyres, let's see if the tyres stay inflated...

Quite happy with the outcome, will use the Arkose frameset until I figure out what I actually want from a "Gravel" frameset, maybe it will do the job nicely!

Looks bloody cool!
