  • The carbon fork has really stiffened the front up and made it a bit

Really like how it's riding right now! The smaller off road sized gear really helped me today.

  • great bike

  • Love both the bike and the scenery. :)

  • I hope this excuses the poor fixie skidder?

  • Your bike is so good!

  • That was fine as well, I should just shut up

  • High praise, why thank you.

  • No no, all opinions are valid here friend!

  • Rode some lanes on this today, had some terrible neck ache which sucked.

New seatpost is comfy, thanks @gbj_tester for the heads up on where to get the material from to make the shim! Worked like a treat.

    Soon upgrades:

Fillet brazed steel stem and Ti spacers.

I bought some SRAM apex levers that's will replace the rival ones. This is just so I can polish the brake lever and gear paddle, this is purely aesthetics.

Would like a silver or blue headset.

Segmented forks from the transition are going to get some braze ons and then put on this.

New paint for frame and forks

Would love a 30/46 chainset to run 2x but that's not a necessity right now as 1x is fine!

  • that bolt impression leads me to assume this was ran tucked??? i hope you will not be doing this and instead going for the longest wheelbase possible

  • previous owner had an 8spd alfine, tukt, wore his marathon plus' down to the carcass and a rear rack.

I shall be doing none of those things

  • i'm glad you saved this frame from such a horrible life, may it live its retirement on your wall/ 6 mile park loops

What are your plans with this in light of your other single speed

  • well, the transition has now been "Grave'd" and it absolutley rips. it weights 9.6kg as pictured and rides very well. great off road and great smashing miles. its exactly what I was missing.

When the genesis was built up 1x10 'road' build it was just a bit slow, sluggish and hard to crank up hills in comparison. so thats been flat bar'd and had a basket put on.

how else you gonna carry your wine and plants and other stuff.

So the pomp is gonna get drops, trusty 42/18 gearing and some nice bits out of my parts bin.

my commute has now upped from 0.7.km to 4.8miles so itll be used for that mainly and for ripping round parks and scaring old ladies.

  • I love a good “practical steel bike philosophy of use reshuffle / spiral / call for help”

    These all look perfect

Excited to see the pomp built, I trust those spacers will be going under the stem when silver ones are acquired 🧐

  • so built this up this afternoon! needs bar tape, new pedals and brake pads though.

Seems to ride okay and fit me right.

its a real shame that the segmented forks of the transition dont fit!!

  • Nice! stem ID?

  • Very very nice

  • forks of the transition dont fit

    Why why?

  • shame about cable discs, needs hydro

  • I say they dont fit but they do fit, however with zero spacers under the stem and im not really about that on this bike!

  • VO, 100mm, 26mm clamp.

  • I have you to thank for inspo of top of the top tube frame pump!
