Do political parties make this sort of thing obvious in their manifestos?

It's like the end of a lions rule in an Attenborough documentary.
RIP Bin Mufassa

First green, garden waste, bin night of the year. Deep sigh of relief.

Blimey, green bin night not till mid February here in darkest Cumbria....

My (brown) garden waste was dutifully collected last Friday after an unplanned 6 week spell on the footpath. Immediately refilled with chippings and back out to the front yard waiting for next Friday.

Mines on the 31st. The excitement in our house is reaching fever pitch.

Downstairs neighbours take ‘garden waste’ to mean any waste that’s come from the garden. Including old fence panels. Not sure that’s going to wash with the operatives.

I'm trying to work out just how much 'garden waste' is being created at this time of the year 🤔

The saving grace is they’re repairing the old fence as they’re moving out this weekend. So while I will have to move the old wood without enjoying the pass. ag. potential, they’re unlikely to do it again.
They also don’t use little bags for their food waste. Wee food bin is like a swill pit.

Depends what you are doing. I've got a patch of bamboo from the previous owners that I'll dig out one day. Today would be a reasonable day if I wasn't too lazy.

I didn’t realise you could put branches that large in (4” thick). This changes everything!
No idea what I’m going to do with all this Japanese knotweed, though…

It is edible, if you are 100% sure that you're 100% sure and have confirmed with an expert that they're likewise sure that it has not been treated with death chemicals etc.

Just bag it up and chuck it in someone else's bin - out of sight out of mind ...

Not in the spirit of the thread, but I'm looking for a bin. Something small, about 30l, animal proof, with wheels and an extendable handle that I can trundle our green waste down to the allotment once a week. Been using a 25l plastic tub but it's pretty heavy when full of wet food scraps. Best plan so far is to try and get another of these sanitary waste bins and strap it to a sack barrow, but our council say you can only get one and they won't replace if you lose it.
Anyone seen anything suitable? My Google-fu is failing me.

Back on topic: It's been bin day today and the council app didn't remind me last night. Luckily I went out for my Tuesday ride so putting them out was part of finishing ceremony. Close one.

You have to pay extra for a green bin collection round these parts, so with a garden project on this year I duly paid my £60 and signed up for the convenience.
Fuckers didn’t mention that if you don’t pay a separate £30 surcharge then they won’t bring you an actual green bin for them to do the collection in.
veolia wankers.

Maybe something like https://www.britishbins.co.uk/recycle-bins-kitchen-bins/ if you just want another one like your yellow bin. Doesn't have wheels though.

Yeah that strapped to a sack barrow could work

I did extensive searching online and never really found what I was looking for. Ended up buying something that was waaaaay to big, and now is used for tetrapak recycling. Next one I got was, pretty flimsy, but just about functional. Neither had wheels though.
Fancy starting a business? Got any contacts in China? -

I got the small one of these. Quality is flimsy and there's sharp edges around the lid. Postage might put you off too! Think it was £10-12.
Larger ones may be better quality, looking at them.
Quite a few councils
For example, my next garden collection at my mum's is next March
