  • had a bit of a chuckle that Youtube auto generated captions turn Hambini into hand baby.

  • It’s also very fatiguing to watch as it not only inaccurate but show. Up. One. By. One. Making. It. Hard. To. Follow. It. Naturally.

    Even worse with Hambini.

  • Yea, the auto generated one is terrible. You can extract some meaning from it but I can imagine
it's a nightmare to try to follow a longer video.

  • And TBF, YouTube doesn’t know the word Hambini, unless it been, y’know, captioned properly in the first place (like adding an unknown word to Microsoft Word and it now recognised it).

  • Such a sad person

  • Gotta say, little disappointed in his ranting videos.

Some of his older videos where he explains how to rebuild hubs and generally good advice I actually enjoyed watching.

It is kinda funny watching people who used to praise some of the brands he roasts now turn completely against them on a whim of some dude on Youtube blasting his mouth.

  • He seemed to have gone quiet.

  • Is it just me or have all of the videos from the last 2 years been deleted from his Youtube?

    Twitter down again too

  • Just possible that the outright misogyny was enough to get his place of work to jerk his chain, whereas the shouty-sweary stuff about bearing tolerances was given a pass.

  • I think he's maybe realised that denying you're sexist then having shit like this laced through your videos is a bit of a contradiction:

  • Searched Hambini on YouTube, last 2 years of videos nuked for the most part. Saw that Durianrider is doing an interview with him and HB mentions having to delay the interview to deal with the CW journalist situation.

  • I advised him to let it drop and walk away on twitter, he was asking for retweets of his rather poor defence. Shortly afterwards he closed his account! Great engineer, just too much personal libellous stuff has been slung around for ages and now it's bit him on the arse. He seemed somewhat subdued in that last video.

  • Saw that Durianrider is doing an interview with

ooof if the misogyny and unpleasantness didn't convince people he was a tit, hanging around with dr will. Then again probably the same people who like hambini also like dr so idk.

  • I was surprised to see DR is still out there. Not really my bag!

  • Amen to that!

  • Is he really a great engineer, or is it a case of the Emperor's new clothes? For instance; Ken Bird used to be the best wheelbuilder on the planet, the primary source of this information was Ken Bird. Could someone qualified please comment.

Either way, he remains an unpleasant twat.

Unfortunately, you've asked that question on the only cycling forum I can think of where the majority of members aren't 'engineers'

  • Is it just me or have all of the videos from the last 2 years been deleted from his Youtube?

Yup, I think all the horrible stuff from the last 2 years have gone.

His recent post on his community pages however remain (inc. the bullying of MAB's strava record).

  • Is he really a great engineer?

No, obviously not. I'm not even sure that he's a good engineer. He has some basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and aerodynamics which you would expect from somebody with an engineering degree and a few years working in engineering jobs.

The mark of a great engineer is an attitude which is clearly entirely alien to hambini. Any slightly competent person can see when a product or process is not perfect in some aspect. When hambini sees it, his immediate conclusion is that he is a genius and everybody else is an idiot. The great engineer will go away and think for a long time about what it is that he has missed which has made all these clever people come to the current solution.

  • Pretty sure he said in one of his videos that he was at Airbus. He’s some kind of bearing engineer. I don’t think he’s engine side though, because that would mean he worked for Rolls or one of the other engine manufacturers and he wouldn’t be working with conventional ball bearings. He’s mentioned Eurofighter as well, but that project has been running for so many years across so many companies he probably specced up a tiny bearing in something and then spent the rest of his time on the project up-issuing drawings.

  • He works in aerodynamics. The BB s and bearing are a side project.
Quick research reveals it is Airbus.

  • He says he's an aerodynamicist when describing his job - specifically in the area of unstable aerodynamics, and the design of high performance control surfaces in combat aircraft. How much of that is bollocks is of course open to question.

  • This isn't a smart question but are you an engineer? I've always wondered

  • I think he's a good engineer, just sullies it with OTT vulgarity, sometimes very smart people are just a bit eccentric (on some spectrum - I dunno) , he needs to be careful though as his private enterprise shenanigans could spill over into his professional life, hence I suspect the reason he's gone to ground. From an engineering point of view he's very watchable, as it's always backed up with facts. I do genuinely hope it's not the last we've seen of him provided he reigns all that vitriol in, I think his "being a wag" plus baiting forums has got totally out of hand.
