  • Sweet, good match for the collection! Is it the one that belonged to @SWijland ?

  • No just struck lucky on ebay (saved search for Ego) - it’s a 57cm top tube which is perfect for me. There’s a dent in the top tube unfortunately but if it’s worse than it looks in the seller’s photos I’ll be getting it looked at by Argos. Really nice paint too. Shipping and customs(!) depending it should arrive in the next 3-4 weeks and I’ll post the photos. Don’t want to tempt fate before it negotiates the border 🤞

  • I would absolutely love one of those! Looked for one before myself, never found one. Looking forward to seeing it

  • Fingers crossed

I found a photo of @SWijland ‘s Squadra. The paint job is a little different:

  • The one from @SWijland is a team bike from a former semi-professional team here in Belgium. Remember these bikes from my early years in racing.

  • KSV Deerlijk - Westauto's was the team afaik.

  • It is very similar to the Westauto's team bike - but the paint is a little more flamboyant, it has cable adjusters on the head tube, and no downtube shifter bosses (plus it's a bit smaller!). I thought that the tubeset was identical to the one Olmo used but the Concorde seems to have a slightly less beefy chainstay (the Olmo ones look like they are from the Max tubeset), may just be the photos though.

  • Squadra arrived. No invoice from customs (yet). Beautifully packed and all the required documents (RB Bikeshop).
Condition was very much as expected with a small ding on the downtube just by the head tube. and a nasty ding on the top tube (NDS) between the d and e of Concorde.
Seat tube has been (badly) reamed to 27.2mm at some point. Uncrown fork has clearance for 25c (just about). Paint is delicious.
Stripped down to clean and check over, it will be going to Argos for dent assessment / filling (maybe).
Ahead stem adaptor is going in the bin, plan is to build it up with what it came with (give or take).

  • Some progress getting it back together - ui-12 and ergonovas probably to be replaced with decathlon 26mm compacts (due to arrive tomorrow) and a pro chrome. Shifters are old and a bit battered, unfortunately new hoods don’t seem to be available - will see if they work when they’re cabled.

  • very cool. excellent.

  • Now cabled and finished apart from bar tape as I only have some red cammo lizard skin which I don't think really goes. The 105 'Flight Deck' shifters are a revelation - pretty much as good as the current versions. Really like the look of the compact bars with the pro chrome and it rides very nicely. I did have thoughts of updating to a more recent group but to be honest (with the addition of the later 175mm crankset so I can use a power meter if desired) I don't want to change a thing. I'd have kept the silver cable outers but for the fact they were all brake cable. Clearance on the fork is minimal even with the 25c fitted, but the forks are built like the Forth Bridge and I'm tempted to take 4mm out of the arch. Should have bought the stainless steel Donhou barrel adjusters instead of the brass ones.
Edit: sorry about the pedals / didn’t have any black fibrax!

  • That's real nice. Somehow the compact bars work extremely well. Flawless setup too.
