  • I'm not very good at this. Went the wrong way round! Basically I did the Leinster Rd triple instead. Gonna have to go back, cos I managed 2.5 laps in about 2:40, including 2 car interactions. A very high unmarked police car presence in the area too for some reason. Definitely enjoyed the idea of laps. As I started, I was like, ok this is kind of like a Richmond Park 3 lap challenge, gonna have to pace each effort etc.

  • 48x17 btw

  • LOL, in fairness I live 2mins away and still struggled to work out which road/way it was!

  • Went for an attempt....

Just so happens I chose the same time as Clap for the NHS which was followed by a nice little 60th birthday Linden Road Street Party.

Ended up having to bail out of the attempt due to the celebrations, but I did stop to clap, watch and sing happy birthday 🎂

Lovely to see a nice community getting together 🙂

  • There has also been a lot of police helicopter presence over the past 3 days too...

  • Aww, amazing!

  • lot of police helicopter

Yea i noticed this, not sure why

  • This is the party to end lockdown we deserve. I'm sad we didn't get to do the hidden hills.of.wembley

  • There's always time...... I don't know you guys, but I've been told I'm working from home until Q2 2021, so i'll definitely be up for an escape from the house hill climb to keep my sanity.

Went back to this week's hill , luckily the no festivities this time:

    Nice and easy 48x17 = 74.924"

Was strange having to be reserved on the down hill section 🙂

  • Hi. I'm not on strava and not good at tech so can i check please is the laps anticlockwise on the map? Ta

  • Hi. Yes, from the bottom of Linden Road up to the top and down Leinster Road and across Cranley Gardens to go back up Linden Road again. Note 2.5 laps to 3 up and 2 down.
For people who care about their time on strava, be aware that but the finish is actually slightly down Leinster Road again.

  • .... And if you're quick, you can see your time on the leaderboard for free because only 8 people have done it

  • Thanks Griff :)
    I'll go after lunch

  • Love it :)
Short and sharp and three laps is no joke esp because the lap has no flat whatsoever and descending is not resting on a fixed gear. Also I had Highgate West Hill fresh in my legs from getting to the segment

  • So I guess with lockdown officially over from June 1st (yesterday), this concludes the LFGSS - HARD WEEK(s) IN LOCKDOWN.

Unfortunately with various injuries/mechanicals we didn't make it to the last hill last week but we will definitley check it out in the coming weeks - sounds like a top community from the pics/write ups :)

It's been great fun exploring new and old hills with new and old friends on the forum - thanks for taking part, I'm touched it made it this far and to 8 pages, I hope it raised at least a smile for anyone who had anything to do with it.

In the meantime as @Josh01 suggested, it would be aces to do a ride around London ticking off all of the 8 hills - we'll put up some details of this in due course and hope anyone who would like to, can come along.

Anyway, it's been awesome - thanks all #nicestforumontheinternet

  • do a ride around London ticking off all of the 8 hills

Yes please! I think there are a few ones south I didn't do recently, would love to go and try them out. Thanks for organising this @Lucybee, I'll keep fond memories of these climbs during trying times!

  • Yes definitely..... I'll be up for that.

Big thanks for organising it all... great idea and has been enjoyable seeing lots of new places in London :)

    Hopefully see you all soon!

  • As a very rough estimate starting and finishing at Regents..... We're talking ~85 km group ride 👍🏼

  • I'm keen for group ride when it's safe.
Thanks to everyone for choosing the hills. I did the complete set. It was a fun way to mix up rides and feel i was doing something with other people
