  • Burpees are dumb.
World record in 12h is 5234

  • I couldn’t imagine doing them for 12 hours. I want to have a go at death by burpee one of these days as a fitness test then try again at the end of lockdown.

  • Of course. You can injure yourself doing pretty much anything. #expert

  • Don't encourage me.

  • Just need to put 12h or 24h in front of it to catch your interest?

  • Or world record.

Pretty much anything time consuming and stupid piques my interest.

    welcome to lfgss

  • I searched world record for skips in one minute earlier. This is going to surprise people, but I'm not going to be breaking it during quarantine... or ever.

  • Exactly. If there's something that can be done, I'll do more of it than anyone else.

See, posting, eating, drinking, riding, etc. Everything can be turned into a competition in my stupid brain.

  • I don't have the coordination or fast twitch for that shit so I need to look at really dumb stuff like skipping around the British Isles or something :)

  • I've got a world record for you to try, I think it's low-hanging fruit. Reckon it'd take 4-6 hours in a velodrome at most.

Greatest distance cycled (no hands) - world record is 122km

Edit: will delete if anyone seriously wants to attempt it

  • posting, eating, drinking, riding

Is there a record for doing all these simultaneously?

Or is that basically what ultra endurance races are?

  • Surely it’d be absolutely nails on a velodrome?

  • I'll take your word for it, I've never ridden in a proper velodrome. Just need any kind of nice smooth track with minimal wind I guess.

  • We were talking about door pull up bars, and being sensible when using them...

  • I looked into other 'drome records years ago and it's expensive to hire, although you could use an outdoor circuit or something.

  • I do this every day on the turbo trainer.

  • Reminds me of the most unpleasant challenge ever. Known as the GI Jane, 100 burpee chin-ups for time. Vom!

  • First ten burpees done:

    1. felt silly immediately
    2. poor jump-to-plank transition
    3. progressively more erratic and breathless
    4. grazed knee on final burp while flailing

    #Burpeelife

  • 100 burpees done as a ‘recovery’ after a short bike ride.
    10x7, 15x2 with 1m rest.

  • So after injuring my knee (and not actually knowing what I've done) I've been trying to find challenges I can get stuck into without having to bend or use my knee.

So far I've started working on the handstand t shirt challenge, this is the goal https://youtu.be/kiJU8T69t-4

And also going to attempt the Bring Sally Up press-up challenge which is going to be a killer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41N6bKO-NVI

Apart from those I'm doing the standard abs/plank work and working on different press-ups and dips. Probably should follow a program at some point.

  • I’m really struggling to motivate myself today.

  • Power through, not far off from making it a habit!

  • I’m really struggling to motivate myself today.

Put the keyboard/phone down and go and do your exercises.

ICNBA to go for a run yesterday and, as usual, the annoyance at myself for missing out was enough to motivate me to do it today. Luckily I'm only running 3 days a week at the moment so I need two days off in a row at some point in the week.

  • Was supposed to go for a run, climbing the walls instead.
