No worries, mine is a freak occurrence I think and was simply stamped the wrong size somehow, but just flagging that the slipping issue seems widespread. Give the carbon paste a go

I had a Thomson seatpost slip recently on my Trek 5200.
I put it down to my lack of a torque wrench / general weakness, so just tightened it up more. I didn't know it was A THING
interesting

Yeah I've had this too - I used the muc off carbon paste and it worked fine - got generallly annoyed at the post so swapped it over to a carbon one from @jono84 and the ride quality is certainly nicer. I'll keep the post for whenever I get around to building a retro mtb for dicking about on though

Used it on all my frames, alu, steel and carbon. You can still get it out after a while.

I say defo go all black! Think it works really well with the frame colour. Also good job finding one, they didnt seem to make many of these with the nice P feature on the rear drop out :)

Just lovin'it, as usual :)
Maybe just shorten the derailleur cables and if it's not mandatory remove the second bottle cage.

What's the new stem? Can't make it out..
-
• #87

Silber sp clamp away from perfect
cough
Lovely

Haha! It's funny you mention that actually.
I did have a silver thomson until my seatpost started slipping, I then naturally overtightened it until the bolt snapped and is now stuck inside.
Still on the hunt for a new one! But the eBay prices on them at the moment are bit ridiculous...

Congrats on the new purchase, that looks incredible.
You gonna go double disc fixed?
-
• #94
Thanks dude.
Not sure what my options are for disc track hubs - any suggestions??
If nothing Iāll most likely run mis-matched hubs and get them laced into the same rim. So I have a disc front and track rear!

Dude. They look perfect! Know if Iāll have any issues using a fixed cog and not a free wheel?
As they say āsingle speedā
Thanks, C x
