    Hi all,

A bit of an odd one but would be great for a garden shed/office/bike storage...

I have just redone my flooring and have just over 6sqm of reclaimed sportshall flooring leftover.
Enough for a smaller room, study, garden office, etc... 3m x 2m so still a good area!

The floor is the popular Junckers Sylvasport Premium Beech which is a 22mm thick solid premium grade beech floor.

The boards have sports line markings in random places - some more than others. The boards are stacked, de-nailed and ready to be fitted. Very hard wearing and durable floor. Can be sanded back to it original glory!

    Dimensions of the sections:

    • 3700mm Lengths
    • 130mm Wide
    • 22mm Deep

    There are 7 full length boards which are 3.7x0.13 = 0.481sqm each. 13 x 0.481 = 6.253sqm
Then some shorter cut sections so will be at least 6sqm usable.

I paid £24/sqm + delivery so technically, the 6 sqm x £24 = £144 which would be a great price since these are around £80/sqm new depending on surface purchased and I have paid shipping to New Cross too, that was another £150.

I am only after £100 -> £95 -> £90 for it, which is extremely cheap for 22mm thick beech wood, here in London, ready to be picked up.

Photos of the stack & photos of my floor.

Since the boards are 3.7m long, I can help you loading them up, we can keep at least 2m away ;-)

    Cheers

    Vince

  • Just wanted to say it would look good as fuck in a right interior

  • Where in London are you based? I’m interested in this but need to check if it’s suitable for what I have planned...

    Can I provisionally dibs this?

    Cheers Andy

  • Based in New Cross SE14 on a quiet street. Plenty of space to stop/load.

Boards are long length at 3.7m so not hacked short pieces like most.

Boards are denailed, ready to be fitted.
    You can install by:

    • nailing them straight to chipboard; or
    • glue them straight to a concrete floor/tiles; or
    • clip them together using the proprietary Junckers Clip system to hold the board together when floating.

That's the same flooring used in many museums too, usually £80/sqm new so that's a good opportunity for someone to to make a nice room / bike cave with it.

Mine will be sanded back to light beech colour once the work in the house is complete.

  • Mine will be sanded back to light beech colour

That's a shame - the court markings look great!

  • These aren't new so as much as you want them to be 100% smooth with no gaps, well, it is inevitable that they have scuff, marks and some of them show slight gaps or very light concavity.

Sanding them down would make them 100% smooth and uniform. Gaps would be filled with wood dust. Clear varnish would make them perfect again.

In short, it's 22mm thick pure beech wood which has not been dark varnished so plenty of options!

I terms of broad (London) costs:

    • Used flooring with shipping is £30/sqm;
    • Professional fitting is £20/sqm;
    • Sanding and varnishing is £30/sqm

Overall cheaper than buying it new, without delivery or fitting. And you re-use and employ someone to do it so that's good too.

  • Hi Vince you good ?
    Here's a idea .a bike room

  • I have also seen people using it to do table tops or bench tops with it. Looks great.

If you had the patience and skills, you could do also recut in skirting boards.

  • Love a coffee table .shame the wife don't share the same taste :-((

  • Keep me posted, should fit in a car with the front & rear seats folded, poking out by a meter or so at the back.

  • Amazing. Would snap these up if I had any need for them, love the aesthetic, GLWS.

  • @Vince do you need rid of it to make space? I’m interested but don’t have anywhere for it until I move. Can pay for it now though :)

  • It is currently in my living room so would like it gone ASAP really.

Due to the 3.7m lengths, I cannot keep it anywhere else unfortunately.

If I can shift it in the next 10 days, I will cut it in shorter lengths and board a section of my attic with it.

  • Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately it won’t work for what I had hoped to use it for.

    Cheers Andy

  • No worries, I will advertise it elsewhere for the next week or so then use it to board my loft if I get no interest

  • One last Easter reminder before I chop it and board the loft with it!

Price dropped to £95 and as always, offers welcome if you can pick up over the weekend.

  • This lovely pile of wood is still hanging in my living room.

I am price dropping it to £90, but I suspect price is not the issue!

  • @Mickie_Cricket this could work well in your pantry

  • Vince.

If these arent taken, I will have them.

Can come and pick up anytime.

    LB.

  • Ready for contactless pick up @lardy
