Love the Heath Robinson stuff so far! It brought to mind this book which has some amazing, similar sort of things in it, drawn by kids.

Todays task suggestion.
5 * 2min drawing of the same object.
Its something we were told to do at the start of every week in GCSE art, always the same object, and at the end of the year our teacher showed us our collected drawings in order. It was amazing at the way we got comfortable with the task over the course of the year. Familiarity and speed led to a freedom of mark making that was interesting.

Interesting exercise - worth repeating with less familiar materials? ('O' Level Art seems a long time ago...)
