  • Anyway, go black chainring silver cranks or vice versa. I do it on all my bikes and looks the bestest

  • Olympic is not mine unfortunately but silver 7600 might go

In the meantime, finalised the lil rack

  • I'd go black crank and silver ring, you'll be able to source an Olympic right? :)

    edit: and get this https://www.marktplaats.nl/v/fietsen-en-brommers/fietsonderdelen/m1936034045-zadelpen-shimano-dura-ace-nos-maat-27-2

  • Well… I just need to pay my mate €350 ;-))

Thanks for the link - lil bit too much for my budget right now 🫤

Last one for me for today:

Next up will be Re-building the M800 beast of the east in pump track mode with mostly period correct items including this cute cockpit:

EASTON magnesium stem plus monkeylite xc bars. Love the boxy design of the stem

  • To be fair it does not need to be the Olympic zen... Plain high polish silver one will do. Those are like 1/3rd the price lol

All jokes aside silver cranks black ring is always good

  • If you ever happen to sell either the black and gold or the stars and stripes F&F I'm ready

  • @young_gun

I‘d try a silver 7600 when I find one for a good price. For some reason I cannot handle the 7710 chainring design emotionally.

For now I think I will go „parts bin“, ie full black.

  • Today, finally the koga cockpit showed up:

    • Nitto For Shred non-OS (25.4) bars, 720mm version (instead of standard 650)

    • Nitto UI 87 BX CNC stem in 110mm

It took me two weeks to track those to items down in these specs. Just couldnt justify bluelug‘s DHL express shipping for 70€ or UK shops silly 40€ shipping plus taxes.

Seems all the UK shops kicked out Royal Mail and since then, shipping rates are nothing less than a joke.

Apart from that, the sprockets.co.uk was the only shop that had the 110mm stem in stock (shipping plus taxes still 40€)

Yeah well, first world problems, I guess?

    Bars from LaChouette (Paris)

    🤨

  • bend it like Hulsroy

  • Steerer cut

    First quick photo

    Good nite

  • Lord have mercy that is nice

  • looks (dura)ace with black cranks ! I'll see myself out :)

  • All black everything looks neat ngl. How is the riding position?

  • needs a zen chainring

  • Thats what im saying!

    but is good, real good

  • Nailed it. That's a gorgeous bike.

  • Many thanks for your kind words everyone. I will take some proper photos should there be a point in time in the near future where my kids do not carry any viruses or whatnot home from daycare.

I am considering douple straps and nylon cages plus the nitto S92 seatpost but thats another €200 which I am not willing to spend right now.

Regarding the riding position and riding in general:

The saddle to bar drop looks insane on the photo but it feels very comfortable to me. No stretching at all.

As this frame only exists in 53, 56, 59 I went for the 53 size so I could use a 110mm stem. As said previously, there was only this particular frameset available so I did not have a choice anyway.

Eventually it turned out that it fits perfectly with the stem length.

Riding is a complete dream compared to the LOOK. With the LOOK toe overlap was suicidal and you could barely turn the bars 1-2 degrees before you got stuck in the cages. Here, I can do reasonable 90 degree turns without touching anything. I know that the front wheel/DT gap on this frame does not look toooooo sexed out but taking into account the flexibility it gives me while riding (brakeless), makes it an awesome ride so far.

Wheels are also super smooth; gearing could be a little bit more relaxed so if anyone is selling a 47/49 chainring, HMU

Oh and here’s a picture of the frame when I first saw it. Also much black but still a different level of detail lets say

  • Not gonna lie, your build is nicer but i do love me a plastic front wheel… ❤️

  • That koga looks really cool !

Low profil rims always works on aero/oversize track bike

  • Lovely night time doner shot.
I feel the saddle needs a bit of setback and the gold chain is distracting and makes the lovely silver touches disappear. Stem and slammage looks ace tho
