Not sure of my wattage when I'm off the bike.
I brought my Thermapen up for an instant read and it says 31.7 (!)

Not sure of my wattage when I'm off the bike.
I'd never consider starting a work day without a rectal thermometer firmly installed..

Went for this Lenovo Q27 2k IPS in the end.
https://amzn.eu/d/bxRVdm8Price and total expiry of interest clinched it (WFH monitor budget is £170).
Also it looks nice.
Feel like having a non adjustable stand was a mistake, and the Philips one would have been the right shout as it also had a built-in USB hub. But tbh I cba to justify the extra spend to my OH. Worse case I can send it back.
Ultimately it's ppt and xls so I need to keep my requirements for colour fidelity and refresh rate in perspective.

100C max today. Too hot? I wonder if taking the side off would help or hinder.
Probably should've slept it while I was on the turbo.

Does anyone use the software with their MX Master*? What does it do?
Basically is it worth me bothering IT support with a request to install it?
Cheers
*specifically 2s if it makes a difference

I use none of the software with my various mice.
The only thing I want is to invert the scroll wheel direction, but this can be achieved with a registry hack against the USB device, and means I don't need to install invasive software that bags to update and is just another thing for the computer to run.

Handy for changing scroll wheel speed, and shifting button use (unless you can do what Velocio suggests, but then IT may have locked that down also). I can't imagine IT would have a problem with the Logitech sw.

Anyone wanting to know how to make Windows reverse scroll direction: https://www.partitionwizard.com/clone-disk/reverse-scrolling-win10.html
In the registry you'll also see other things you can do. Most mouse software is just manipulating things that Windows can do but doesn't expose options for.
Note though, it's based on the USB id, and the id changes when you plug the mouse into different USB sockets. So it works best when you do it and always plug it into the same socket.

What about BT?

I can't imagine IT would have a problem with the Logitech sw.
IT would at my work. Any software needs a legal and an InfoSec review which takes a lot of effort so doesn't happen for drivers for user chosen hardware.
-
• #2843
Ouch. My hope would be something as common as logitech might have some kind of precedence so they already gone through that bollocks.
-
• #2844
Same applies.

• #2845
Standard keyboard and mouse is an awful Dell thing, nothing as fancy as Logitech.
-
• #2846
No. Partly I couldn't be bothered to ask IT (who will likely say no) and partly because if I want to customise things I'll use this https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm which is far more powerful and runs as a portable version.

and runs as a portable version
That is also not allowed where I work. If the software isn't on the approved list you must not run it.

👍🏻

Cheers.
I think I'm just going to stick without any software. Especially as so far the default functions do what I want.
Plus I've always followed that old school thing about getting on with the people who pay you, feed you and fix/supply your tools - can't remember what the proper saying is.

Also fucking love the side scroll for xls. Absolute game changer.
You're forgetting the human in the room, no?
My fanless machine is running 40-60C with a max of 76C (oof, when was that?)
It's 30C in this room.
EDIT: Max: 85C
