Anyone got anything for mounting a webcam? It’s a bit too close when on the top of the monitor. Could do with being a little higher and further back.

Back on the topic of office chairs, I'm currently using the below which on the surface looks legit. I got it ferried home via PedalMe from the office back in May. However, I don't necessarily feel super comfortable in it and have a feeling that it's something cutting/reducing circulation at my thigh level.
Is my best bet upgrading for HM Mirra or similar at the £3-400 mark? (I'm 174cm and 72kg)

I couldn't find it in the thread but was there a way to turn on a Windows laptop just by plugging in the power? I thought someone on here had a way of getting their to turn on with having to open the lid. I've looked through the power settings but didn't see an option for that as a "wake up" or power on

I think it was "wake on power" in the BIOS settings (and only if the motherboard supports it).

My physio suggested that a seat should measure ~3/4 the length of your hip to knee, and the back should be ~ the same as the distance between the base of your spine and start of your neck.
With your feet flat on the floor, your thighs should be ~parallel to the floor
HSE has guidance for chair & desk heights (their monitor height guidance is outdated though)
That being said, I don't rate herman miller - too much form over function, particularly at the premium they charge.

Maybe this is a terrible place to ask, but I've always wondered why wheeled, spinning chairs became the norm? Personally they just make me sit at terrible angles, I tend to prefer a decent rigid chair.

Thanks I'll get my SO to take a picture of me sitting and do a few measurements. Any other reccos for brands/models then?

This is great, really well thought out.

Wheeled spinning chairs are more agile, allowing me to surface insights to key stakeholders at pace.

How else do you determine an office chair jousting champion?

I have a Corrigo chair. Nice, but pricey.

I bought a second hand Aeron, imagining my 9-5 would henceforth be accompanied by angelic choirs.
It's more comfortable than my last chair, but not as good as I'd hoped. Turns out there's no good way for a human body to sit motionless for 8 hours.

I remember reading / watching something where an expert in ergonomics / physiology was asked which chair is the best and her answer was along the lines of 'all of them, as long as you don't use them for more than an hour at a time' and basically went on to echo your sentiment - the human body is just not designed to sit for so long. She recommended changing chairs / positions as often as possible.

I bought a HM celle and although it was a big step up from my cheapo ikea chair it wasnt anything like as good as an aeron. I eventually caved and bought one of those instead and I dont regret it. You should be able to find one within your budget second-hand pretty easily.

Thanks. Really helps to work in such a clean environment - I can't focus with mess around.

See I liked the Celle loads more than the Aeron. Even the lab spec one with the hard plastic seat. Mirra probably the comfiest though. Form over function? Hell no, they're butt ugly.

I am loving the Steelcase Please 2 that was recommended on here. I have for all my sins done a 70 hour week on it last week and not once was chair comfort an issue, it is far more comfortable than what we had in the office. I read a review that described it as an atomically correct piece of wood as it isn't over padded but I haven't had any issues.

I got one of these as well second-hand, after looking at loads of different options and reading loads of reviews. Really pleased with it; although I'd prefer slightly higher armrests, and/or more padded ones. But it's amazingly comfortable over longer periods of time.

Ah, ok, I'll have a rummage around on Monday morning. Many thanks

Daily search to see if the big 4K monitor I want (Acer DM431K) is available anywhere and I found an ex-display one for sale on eBuyer so I've snapped it up.
If it works out then I'll sell my dual Dell 23" monitors with mounting arm which should lessen the overall cost.
It should also be the last bit of my WFH rejig for now (the last last bit will be a new personal laptop but no rush for that now).

Will probably need a desk clamp for it as it could do with being moved back, the way the legs for it work it means it is 25cm from the wall right now which is a bit of wasted space, especially as the monitor itself is only ~8cm deep.
Time to look for a good VESA 200x200 desk clamp. (Wall mount won't work given this is a sit/stand desk.)
It's awesome though, been staring at various 4K demo videos on vimeo...
(Maximised LFGSS browser window for empty space lols.)

Don't suppose anyone has a discount code for flexispot desks? They've got a smallish glass topped one that I'm going to push the button on. It looks remarkably similar to the one Costco had but is sold out of too..USBs are in a different spot but having the drawer in it clinched it.
Also did a bit of an analysis as couldn't figure out the differences between the desks, not sure if useful

How's that desk?
I was looking at 400-odd Ikea sit/stand but Skinny mentioned this brand off Amazon.
