"Controls will be performed at Switzerland's borders to prevent the influx of foreigners from the most affected countries, particularly Italy. Sommaruga said that Schengen agreement allows individual members to take these restrictive measures in special situations. Exceptions will be made for Swiss citizens and permanent residents returning to Switzerland, as well as foreigners employed in Switzerland."
https://www.zermatt.ch/en/liveticker for the stuff about ski resort closing (you can still ski tour, but meh)

not quite, they have closed freedom of movement, but the UK was always subject to passport checks.
skiing in France is still a go, so Geneva will still be somewhat busy

As you can probably imagine, the uphill ski from the town to the start of any of the routes without using a lift is a brainless, soul destroying grind. Skinning to Furi is something you do once and vow never to do again. It's not steep, it's just boring as hell.

Surely better to lobby the government to provide financial support.

It's when gangs of middle class white people are ambushing Ocado delivery vans that we'll know it's properly fucked up.

Guess representing the businesses not the workers sadly.

haha yeah i can only imagine. I'd rather bribe a lifty to give me a ride on a snowmobile. I've skied that route a lot and it would be hell to skin up

This is interesting, but very tentative*. I look forward to seeing some controlled study in the future. Such pre-emtive warnings would be good, re self-isolation.
*Comments paint a VERY mixed picture.

Well I don't know if I had or not. But I broke it in 2 days. The lung peal only lasted one night.
No temp and no cough.

Very.
I'm no doctor, but even in my state of medical ignorance, I'm pretty sure that HR alone is a poor indicator of anything as complex as a viral infection.

When everything's shut down there won't be any workers. It'll be interesting how the country deals with mass unemployment, and the consequent poverty.
