Luckily my work is flexible enough that I can fit in child care (or benign neglect of a 10 year old) whilst my wife is also at work (in a job that can't be time-shifted). We're also both part time (4 days and 3 days) which makes it a lot easier.

I'd tell nanny to stay at home but I would still take kids out to the park just be mindful of what they touch, wipe up after them, and keep them away from others? Until you suspect different, chances are it's just a bog standard cold.
