So it is. Sorry. I blame the weekend clock shenanigans for my confusion.

The covid crisis is over, according to WHO. 20 million deaths worldwide are estimated.
End thread.

That seems a very high figure. Worldometers.info suggest <7 000 000

Doesn't scream trusted source from the name or first thing that appears when I click through, maybe it's just what I've been searching for recently.

Had my second bad cold the past week and a bit (first was in March). Same deal again, really bad cough, lots of mucus, bad sinuses, constantly blowing my nose. Didn't test either time.
Last week I've been experiencing a really weird thing, I keep smelling cigarette smoke. At first I thought it must have been neighbours standing outside and the smoke coming in through the air bricks or whatever, but my GF doesn't smell a thing. It's gone from periodic to all the time. Sense of smell (like if I really sniff something) and taste is actually OK.
Anyway, wondering if it's a Covid thing in actuality? Anyone experienced anything like it?

The last time I had Covid I had a bout of incredibly enhanced hearing, bionic man type stuff, I think I mentioned it here at the time.

ne1 still watchign in 2023
Anyone still getting Covid? Folks both came down with it last week after catching it off work colleagues. Me and OH both ill at the end of last week but it didn’t occur to us to test for Covid. It might explain the complete braindeadness I’ve got now though.

I've had a couple of moments where I had similar symptoms to when I did have it, but so mild that I didn't even feel it worth being bothered about. I'm treating it just like a cold now - if I feel grotty, just don't go coughing in people's faces and that (which to be fair is a good general rule anyway).

The latest ONS figures were from mid-March 2023 and that still had 1 in 40 people in GB were testing positive then.

My mum has had it this week, after spending a week in Germany cruising down the Rhine.
Colour me surprised.

Maybe it's just a bit of rhinitis.
