It’s fine, I think i got the latest variant, and realised the virus is much more widespread than originally is due to the fact you cannot use other test other than the NHS one that you can’t even order.

Anyone on here had the symptom of extreme skin pain?
Basically my scalp is so tender and painful to touch it’s actually a little alarming. All other symptoms are now beside the cough.

My scalp is bad, I've been considering shaving my hair off to allow the skin space to heal. Wasn't linking it to covid though.
Last 3 nights I've woken around 5am with hot, itchy, tight skinned hands, like a contact alergic reaction response. Again hadn't presumed it was a covid after effect but maybe it is?
Maybe just middle aged thread content?

I’m already “follicle challenged” so nothing to shave.
Plus I’m very very early 30s surely not.

Middle age comment more about my woes not yours.
Just gone grade 2 all over.

Happy to report that after my second dose of covid this year, it hasn't hit my fitness anywhere near as much as the first time. Was really shitting it that it'd undo even more of my hard work than it did in March.

I’m already on the road to recovery after 3 days, think the latest variant is not as aggressive.
P.s. sorry I haven’t replied! I’ll try and find photos as they were in my old laptop, where y’know, stuff get stored in actual hard drive.

Same here, positive test yesterday, was absolutely floored, in bed most of the day. Feel not too horrendous today. Hoping it carries on in that trajectory.

Not at all mate. No rush.
Also, back your shit up! 11 year old photos on a hard drive somewhere gives me the fear!

My experience has been 2 days wiped out then feeling ok in mornings and crashing hard in the afternoon… The crash point has got later and later but I’m still exhausted by tea time now.
Very faint line on the LFT today, 12 days in!

Exactly that.
Seems there’s a finite amount of energy for the day but it gets better daily, will say though don’t nap after a nap is the worst.

Well I was still feeling ok-ish by lunchtime so attempted some 'gardening' (actually breaking up concrete with an SDS) because fucked if I was going to let another dry weekend get away without doing it and it's not like I can do much else. A couple of moments leaning up against a fence post but that's probably not unusual tbh.
Still feel right enough to have a couple of beers so either this is shortest lived case ever or I've just lined myself up for a world of pain tomorrow.

How did this go?
I had a clear test this morning so treated myself to a 3rd birthday party… Currently exhausted 😂

Slept for 17h last night (7pm to midday). Odd as I felt fine at 6pm and then various types of ropey ever since (sore throat been and gone, headaches been and gone). Negative LFT but passed on my friend's wedding today just in case (and I'm still feeling wobbly).
Same initial symptoms as when I had confirmed Covid back in late Feb but the majority have passed much quicker. Bets on feeling tip top tomorrow morning in time for work (WFH so I'll stay away from society for another couple of days at least.)

The gardening or the covid? Woke up with a nagging headache... dehydration is a bitch. Felt alright by 4ish, still testing strongly positive. Didn't manage much productive though my energy is usually on a low ebb in this heat.
Any tips on LFTing a 1 year old?

We just haven't bothered testing our youngest after the first few times. Far too stressful and more hassle than its worth. We catch everything they bring home from nursery anyway so we'll know if it's in the household when we test ourselves and our eldest who actually likes the nasal swab. Wierdo.

Does seem like it would be a token gesture at best. I guess as long as his mum keeps testing clear and he seems ok in himself we'll be alright sending him off to nursery? Can't actually find mention of it in the nursery's policy now.

We just grinned and bared it with our one year old and held her head.
Despite our best efforts she has it sadly.

is the new variant way more transmissible and faster acting than the previous?

Use the tests that are nasal swabs only, wrap them up in a towel or something and hold on tight. Be prepared for hysterical screaming and them legging it at the sight of a COVID test after the first go. Definitely don't use one of those shitty tests where it's 50:50 whether you get enough liquid (this one caused a lot of swearing).
We quickly decided fuck it and just checked their temperature instead.
Our nursery was ok with ours going when a parent had it (I was negative for another 4 days or so after mum was positive) so there was still someone to take them.

This is heartening. I tested positive this morning, just when I felt fit enough to race next week. Think racing next Friday is probably out of the question but good to know I won't suddenly have lost everything like the last time I had it.

If you have the latest, drink a lots of water and prepare for cold sweat

I've seen lots of little kids having PCR tests and they generally get held upside down and it's an all round horrible experience. After months of daily PCR tests, older kids just open their mouths and let their adult pick them up so they're tall enough to reach the testers hands.
Then again I live in a dystopian nightmare so I wouldn't recommend any of this to anyone. -

I can give you a code from a recent NHS test I took (that I didn't bother reporting).
