No not really. I mean, you seem to be able to understand me well enough, maybe you can make a judgement of relative "cleverness".
-
• #26303
At a guess, the basic statistical premis(?) has been the same all the way through, so will show trends.
Tho I'd be wary of government intervention to massage figures, and or finding people that follow their message. But can't see that here.

Euphamism?
-
• #26305
To make a comparative judgement we need an agreed definition of cleverness.
Fist thing is a skid contest.

Finding it hard to be sympathetic...

thick as mince.

Just wondered what it signifies. But I certainly wouldn’t presume to judge anyone’s ‘cleverness’ in relation to anyone else. And I wouldn’t have the chutzpah to endorse someone else with reference to my own ‘cleverness’.

• #26309
Why any sympathy, not as if there was a medical reason for not being vacinated.
Now why not share this among the anti vax idiots.
-
• #26310
No darwin award as there are off spring. But at least husband and son were vaxed.
-
• #26311
Well there we go. I'm aware enough to realise who exactly in this world is cleverer than me.
Its most people.

I don't ever advocate myself as being more than a scientific grunt.

Keywords like "natural" and "big pharma bad" and "my immune system is good" etc. have a surprising hold over many people.
Especially woman because they have been traditionally more led down by doctors / are more likely to hang out in groups that do natural health / oh yeah good aul sexism in health care, sigh.
No, I don't think it's smart what she did, but surely the pandemic showed we don't always wear "healthcare is fine" "virus doesn't care what we think" "vaccines are safe" hats as a population/world.
Look at people that don't get vaccinated because they resent lockdowns/the government...sure, Boris is a twat (now official ha) and to me it makes no sense cos viruses don't care, but that's what it is.
Cos this shite... it's everywhere. Isn't the smart way to find a way to work with it? I rather have that people don't die, it makes my sad.

Well said.

Picked at random.

Not picked at random, picked because it's IMD score is not great.
I'm not being picky, or pedantic, if you want to drill into it you can.

Just saw this and found it funny, I had a Toronto - Lisbon flight with TAP Airlines in the beginning of the year and I can safely say over half of passengers (at least in economy) did not wear masks for the entire 6+ hour flight. The flight attendants tried their best but people are just assholes - I didn't see anyone actually argue, people complied only only when flight attendants asked them to, the moment they were out of sight the masks went back to their pockets.
I got covid a couple of days later, most likely from this flight.

Amazing that Johnson has told teachers to ditch the masks and go back to face to face teaching when the only cohort seeing an increase in cases is school kids...
-
• #26323
Yep. Plenty of spare teachers...
-
• #26324
So no more restrictions in the UK.
Am I the only one thinking carnage?

The antimaskers are being assholes and deserve flight bans.
They know damn well about the mask requirements.
They buy a ticket knowing about the mask requirements.
They wear a mask get on the plane and take their mask off in flight. These are the same assholes who go into a store and take their mask off. It’s not about freedumb it’s about getting attention by being obnoxious.
Darwin needs to hurry up.
Is this hard?
