Technically you have been to Hochgurgl and Untergurgl but we're splitting hairs here. They're basically all the same place. Give or take.

Praying my PCR test on Monday morning at 7am comes back negative, I’ve been extremely careful but there’s only so much you can do on a plane. It’s going to be a tense 90 minutes, then it’s (hopefully) off to work at Vent for a week.

Good luck mate, really hope it works out. I'd do anything to even just quarantine in the Gurgler valley right now.
Working in Vent? Doesn't strike me as a particularly job-friendly sort of place :D
If you feel fit and have some time, there's a great up and over route from Obergurgl to Vent via Ramoljoch. Easy enough to call a taxi to take you back to your starting point.

I was actually considering doing that route as an Austrian colleague told me about it a few years ago, I’ve been towards the end of the valley with the new bridge crossing the glacier but never up and over towards vent.

“Do this hike in good weather and with the appropriate alpine equipment only.
Sure-footedness and a good head for heights are required.”
I fully lost any resemblance of a head for heights a few years ago, is it a Klettersteig route?

the new bridge crossing the glacier
Sadly the glacier is about 300m behind the (new) bridge now. Amazing to think you could see that glacier from the town 100 years ago.
Anyway, good luck with your PCR test.

is it a Klettersteig route?
No. Definitely no equipment required other than appropriate clothing and footwear. Its a hike with a few ladders and cables to pull yourself up. The vertical is the challenge. Definitely one for a good weather day. We were up above Vent on the same ridge in August 2020 and a foot of snow fell when we were expecting rain.
The web site is misleading when it says "alpine equipment" is required. PM if you have any questions.

I need to look at my TCRs in Strava. They all blend together. I have a feeling it was the last one
EDIT: This looks close: https://www.strava.com/activities/2727788081#68146317223

I've no idea. I know I was in the hurt locker with my knee and climbing mountains was the last fucking thing I should've been doing:
I think this is the relevant day: https://www.strava.com/activities/2727788081

more n00b testing question:
my place of work says I need to bring "evidence of a negative test taken within the last 72 hours" - I can't get through to anyone on the phone to clarify what this means. Is it the physical test device? I've logged the result on NHS website, do I need to install the NHS App on my phone? Will that show the test on there? -
• #22141
I did one of those lateral flow things this week (negative) and you register that online as negative, using an ID for the test strip (there’s a QR code) and your details.
They then text and emailed me to confirm I’d registered a negative outcome. So I presume you could use this.
It did then pop something in my NHS app, but there is a record outside this. -

Girlfriend just had a notification to self-isolate for 7 days, her mate too after they went to Mildred's on Thursday.
Bit annoying and can't go to cricket, but shit happens eh.

Oof feeling for you.
Hope the temp is coming down now?
If your breathing gets any more difficult, call 111 ASAP, hope you won’t have to though.

Went late night shopping and I was the only one wearing a mask properly. Even shop staff and guards either no mask or mask on the chin.
-
• #22147
Aw :(
Hope you continue to fight it off and it won't leave you with lasting issues.

Mask mandate lifted here in NL. Quite weird to see people in shops without masks, especially the mask-less guy sneezing into his hands in one place. Glad to see some people made no effort the last 18 months and don't intend to start now.

Were these 'grab a jab' walk-in things just for the weekend, or are they ongoing?
Lucky fucker. Supposed to be climbing there with some local friends at the moment. Supposed to as in would be if there wasn't a pandemic on.
