Gloucester & Cheltenham (currently tier 2) have a higher infection rate than anywhere else in the SW at the moment (including tier 3 areas Bristol and South Gloucestershire).
Cheltenham has ~ 25/30 new cases a day. Doesn’t sound like a lot but sadly Gloucester hospital seem to be struggling.

i do wish the tv news would stop platforming dangerous tory chucklefucks like desmond "blackface" swayne who seems to delight in telling us to "make our own minds up about lockdown measures" while pretending he gives a shit about people's mental health and families in poverty.
edit:
and now, kirstie shitting allsop and esther rantzen.
fuck my soul

kirstie fucking allsop
So irresponsible. Awful stuff.
Local road with many bars is rammed every weekend despite being tier 3, takeaway beers means everyone milling about in street

she's a dangerous, solipsistic cunt of the highest order and channel four news seriously needs to give its head a wobble for allowing her to spout this sort of weaponised selfishness.
astounding.

Niece has tested positive, sister is unwell... 😐
-
• #18108
I hope they recover quickly.
-
• #18109
Saw that, mind blowing. C4 news is generally the best.
-
• #18110
Thanks... Niece is fine really but sis is complaining of a very sore throat and terrible headache... She smokes, is very stressed out generally... Fingers crossed...

I really enjoyed C4 news tonight for Des invoking Oliver Cromwell as the last ruler who tried to steal Christmas from us and Kirsty and Esther having an argument, felt like a nice distraction

anyone been to an airport in tier 3? any different to an airport in tier 2?
-
• #18113
Yes, areas of the north-west from what I remember. There wasn't much outrage at cancelling eid in the press that I recall but I'm pretty sure "cancelling Christmas" would be different.
-
• #18114
I hope Christmas gets "cancelled" so my mum stops emailing me to ask if I think it's ok for the family (from 3 continents and who haven't quarantined/isolated) gets together for the break.
-
• #18115
So we're at the point that litterly everyone in Government knows this is a terrible idea, but to save face we'll just carry on with it anyway and give vague messages about commonsense
Great.

Walked passed a Whetherspoons last night. Not joking but about 200 young ppl were all queueing. Not more than 18 Ave age. NOT A SINGLE MASK BETWEEN THEM. All clumped together, like tightly packed sardines.

NOT A SINGLE MASK BETWEEN THEM
They were outside where people have been told masks aren't needed

Edwina Currie has entered the chat (the real one, despite lack of a blue tick)

That causes an entirely different interpretation of the Edwina Currie-John Major affair.

Not sure if it's common knowledge yet, but PHE have decided that after the vaccines have been given to the the most needy, they'll be available via private means... ie you pay for them.
Was mentioned in a meeting yesterday

Any other info to help find an online source?

How long would that be CP?

How many other religious holidays were "cancelled"? Why should Xmas get a free pass?
Christmas in Britain has been a secular holiday for years. I'm with Jonathan Meades on religion but I bloody love Christmas.

This sounds like bollocks unless you have a credible source?
The stated aim is to inoculate as many people as possible aged over 16 in the UK. The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 100 million doses of the Oxford vaccine.
Either way, the Pfizer vaccine costs £15 and the Oxford vaccine costs £3. I don't think it would be worth charging for a £3 vaccine and Oxford/AstraZeneca have said they won't make any profit from their vaccine anyway.

I assume that if @Clever_Pun heard this in a meeting he can't quote his source.
When I relayed on here what I heard in a multi agency emergency planning meeting at the start of the first wave, and couldn't relay my source, I got a lot of flack. Although it did turn out to not happen in the end (ban on recreational cycling), so people are right to be sceptical I suppose.
Likewise. But that’s what’s likely.
