And we are able to take it on the chin.

Working very well, England has the worst excess death rate of Europe, holidays allowed, then quarantine 2 weeks later... but yes, you could very well be right that is a factor.
Scotland, yes, a big problem with carehomes and nr3.
Weirdly NI is only nr 8 (again lots of carehome deaths) as it's not densely populated, like Scotland though our big cities are smaller.
Both of course were not in control of early shutdowns/furlough payments, though could have done better. But DoorMatt and redBusBoris have really no excuse.

On top of being allowed to go to pubs, which astoundingly still going ahead in the North.

They claim people meeting in houses is the risk.
Ok but...the optics of this are "but pubs..." and on top, non whites and lower incomes are more affected by the new rules.
So even if it's true based on data, it's handled very poorly. Again.

Tory mp moving into dangerous territory on LBC earlier, disgusting!
-
• #15307
I saw that. Not a shred of evidence to suggest he is right too. Plenty of evidence that he's outright wrong though.

What's LBC?

Leading Britain's Conversations or something, it's a radio latrine.

I was looking at this map by ward and there does seem to be some correlation in some areas. Not sure if that is consistent though or just a coincidence in those areas I know.

Radio station that has hired both Nigel farage and Katie Hopkins in the past.

The way he phrased is was out and out racism and is definitely a dog whistle to the Tory base and they will certainly use this to cover up the mistakes made. I imagine there will be daily mail photographers all over the country tonight looking for eid celebrations.

The Public lic Health England opinion is that it's a young people socialising rather than a race or religion thing.

Saying that the mp being interviewed didn’t sound that bright and was lead into making the statement by the interviewer, this narrative needs to be challenged though!

"the north"

Stokes the fucking Midlands innit. As someone from Reading with a wife from Stoke, living in Manchester, we've got the lines pretty well defined. I am worried about Yorkshire annexing Cheshire though.

In my defense, my phone capitalised it.

I wonder if the Government would have done the same to a predominately white area at 9pm on Christmas Eve.
I was up in the city today, morning and evening rush hour at Liverpool Street station was surreal, it was dead. The city is empty.
We got a take out veggie pizza from Giz and Greens on City Road this evening, they had a nice open area out back that was fully booked, they were doing everything correctly as far as I could see and it was good to hear they were fully booked. The pizza was a 10, copying the old Pizza Hut stuffed crust pan pie but done fresh and proper. They’re only there until the end of August, worth a visit (yes I’m cheerleading).

Theyve redacted the small wedding receptions that was supposed to be allowed from tomorrow, and with my parents being in manchester, our hope for a small (parents only) registry office wedding then 15 close friends in my partners parents garden has been scuppered at the last hurdle. Was the only thing I’d been looking forward to, bollocks to it.

That sounds really disappointing
Will you postpone or proceed?

In your defence you're still fucking wrong.
I'm not from the north, or the midlands. But saying Stoke is the north is fucking madness.
Where is Carlisle? Scotland? -
• #15324
I agree. It's more or less level with Derby which is definitely not the north.

The north starts in Sheffield.
Que?
A term I hear thrown about.
