Get well soon.

I'm in Dubai airport - many, many people wearing masks. Unfortunately they're mostly a combination of builders masks, eye masks being work over the mouth, incredibly thin ones and mostly worn on an angle so people can still talk to their mates.

I used Senate House when I was QMC student and don't recall any soap on spikes in the toilets.

Both me and my wife had standard flu last month. It's pretty shit at the time but actually for me the worst bit was the slow recovery. Just felt knackered all the time. It's been years since I had a virus so I just expected to be fine after a few days, like when you have a cold.

When I had flu 2 years ago it was horrific. I got into bed on Sunday feeling tired and shitty and got out again on Thursday not remembering a single thing and weighing 3kg less. My wife would come in every day and feed me food and water and change the bed sheets but I don't remember anything about it. It's the sickest I'd ever been.

Thought this is worth mentioning because it shows a different kind of impact from Covid-19.
My old Mum has Alzheimers and has just had a worsening of a very unpleasant pre-existing condition that requires surgical intervention to avoid serious complications. She's currently avoiding going to see her specialist at hospital because she's scared of catching Coronavirus.
There are a lot of unwell people who are in a very difficult position because of what is going on.
Clearly the priority is what you have now rather than what you haven't got yet. Will take some persuading.

That's a tough decision for her to make. I would be reluctant too.

Had a Covid 19 swab taken today after developing some symptoms on the corona list after a long haul flight, but also due to overlap with someone diagnosed positive on the floor below me at work.
Gagging for the result to come back negative, happy with the precaution but the 48-96 hrs wait is gonna stretch thin.
