Literally the response I was looking for; a list of things that hadn’t crossed my mind. Thanks!

Russia Dock Wood on Tuesday, my dogs went piling into the trees. I looked after them, saw a gorgeous husky looking back, and said out loud, 'Wow, aren't you beautiful?' Then noticed the owner squatting to take a shit.

It looks like Boris fell the right side of the odds line as he is released from ITU this evening.
I am from from a Tory but I think we need him as a leader and has the respect of his party. -

Now he is Legend.

• #10031
yeah, now he can get right back to fucking over the poor and vulnerable with his shit decision making and deferring to sociopathic fuckstains like cummings and patel.
give your head a wobble.

Greenwich council have close large chunks of the Thames path, due to "people not adhering to the 2m rule".
Forcing everyone on to even narrower pavements. It's almost like they want as many people as possible in the parks this weekend.

It was clearly the husky walking the person. :)

Entirely agree, and a better option at the moment is?

Thanks. This confirms what I suspected.
I’m going to talk it through with him and see what’s doable.

I have a rock that protects from Covid
Masks don't though they may protect others from you if you're infected.
Everything we do is about protecting others from our possible infection
Which is why driving is an issue.
If you drive to the country or to a beach and you're the only person/family doing this then neither you or anyone else gets exposed
But if everyone did this the we're spreading our infection yo othrrd
Which is why no one should drive to the country or beach
It's collective responsibility

Yeah yeah I get that. It was similar to Dan's tinfoil hat thing and specific to the paper in question.
Anyhoo, my understanding of this is -
If you know or suspect - because symptoms - you are infected, you do (should) not go outside. There might be very limited circumstances where you would have to, and in that case the least you could probably do is wear a mask.
If you are looking after someone infected or you suspect is infected, wear a mask.
If however you don't believe you are infected and are not looking after anyone infected, there is no need to wear a mask - and there is no proven benefit to wearing a mask to you as someone who is uninfected.
Problem: this thing is asymptomatic and symptoms if shown can be laggy - it's possible to believe you are not infected because no symptoms but actually you may be infected and infectious. So what do you do?
If the recommendation is wear a mask in this case, that means everyone has to wear a mask at all times when outside - unless proven to be uninfected through the tests we do not have.
Problem: not enough masks. There are other problems too such as proper disposal.

Though even makeshift masks, or scarves will minimise potential aerosol infection of others if you're symptomatic or not.
We all need to assume we're infected which is the only way to protect everyone.
It's a unique situation where we protect others who protect us.

Well, there's a big 'maybe' on this. Nobody really knows. Grasping my £10 rock (fnar) or donning Dan's tinfoil hat might be equally (in)effective.
The bigger problem is that people will not do this, they will buy up N95s that others should be using.

True but 'maybe' is enough to enforce mask wearing imo.
Agree re the N95 issue. Most people I see are wearing makeshift masks

You should see the stuff round my way. It's like being in Fallout Newvegas. Without the guns. And the robots.

Not fun then?

• #10044
Hah yeah it's crap.
-
• #10045
Or worse. Believe themselves to be protected / protecting others.
-
• #10046
Worse.
It says:
"I don't care about the area I'm visiting. I may be ill. But I don't care about the people in the area I'm visiting. So what?" -
• #10047
True.
I'd like to think it's a small minority that think like this -

True but 'maybe' is enough to enforce mask wearing imo.
Maybe @Howard's rocks prevent infection. Do you have any conclusive evidence they don't? If not, why haven't you got one? After all, if we're ignoring scientific evidence and relying upon opinions, why does @Howard's belief in his magical rocks count any less than your belief in the power of masks?
All hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster and his Noodly Appendages! Ignore science. Embrace belief and opinions.

P. S. Tinfoil hats available at only a fiver a pop. Guaranteed not to give you Covid19. Can you take the risk?
