Always found the "fast main roads vs quieter smaller roads" debate interesting, and ultimately it just seems everyone will have their preference and might not be a question of better vs worse, which makes the idea of Strasser going with the flow a bit odd. Whether supported or not, he'll have ridden thousands of miles on both types of routes.
Incidentally, the whole thing is clearly visible at the front right now with Ulrich and Adam taking parallel roads...!

Maybe Ulrich is going to buy a Pegoretti?

with a Campa triple!

Is the rule still that you can self-validate and make the finish and be on GC if you're in time?
-
• #781
Funny, cos a Czech guy says the drivers are the worst there. :)
But in my experience I would say I don't recall issues in either country and the UK and Australia are worse by far. Italy is scary but the drivers are at least looking at you - they just pass like lunatics into blind bends and stuff. Romania was the worst - they'll get into headons with zero concern for the bike on the road and give fuck all room if they're coming from behind.

I don't think (hope) that was the rule in 2019 I missed CP3 and was timed out at that point from GC.
-
• #783
Hmm, maybe I made it up then. So if you miss any of the CPs you can finish but won't be in the GC?
-
• #784
"To be included in GC all CPs / parcours must be completed in full and in numerical order prior to closure time."
-
• #785
That’s badly worded
Edit: from the manual? -
• #786
Ok, I've not been outside time cuts so maybe I'm just thinking about the CPs being unmanned, ie. Pluzine, if they've all gone to bed you were supposed to grab the stamp and DIY.

Who is this Robin Gemberle, has he done long races before? Here's his IG https://www.instagram.com/robingemperle/
Seems to have raced in a team years ago, then fixed gear crits and has this sweet fixie (but he's not racing on that)

Montenegro coast and Italy for me.
When Bosnians come at you head on, on your side, they give you a semi apologetic wave, which is good enough for me.

Exactly what I was thinking, too dreamy as well.

• #795
Romania sounds dreamy anyway.
Maybe that guy who stayed patiently behind us on a very steep road, and almost started going backwards because his car was full and not very powerful, just left the most positive beeing overtaken impression ever and that's the reason I think they are nicer.

Ah the weight weenie cut off your toothbrush thing. He will regret it.
Unless his wrists are superhuman.
And yes, that's a sweet Fixie.
But then the Swiss are good with nice objects. -

Am I being a bit dense, but are the check points miles off the parkours? Can't see why people wouldnt route to them, like they aren't info controls that you could forget about.
-
• #798
My only thought could be same out and back and could miss the turn and it wouldn’t be obvious…?
Edit: effectively rejoining the route very quickly -

“Fixed-gear bikes make a specific sound when they crash”
Is he on here? 😆
Fiona is using phone tracking until they get her another tracker.
